Arsène Wenger is remaining tightlipped over a rumoured deal to bring Mathieu Flamini back to the Club.
The former Arsenal midfielder has been training at London Colney after leaving AC Milan at the end of last season.
There has been speculation he will be offered a contract by Wenger, but the manager refused to confirm anything was imminent.
"He is just here to work on his fitness and he does that very well," he said. "I don't say there is no chance and I don't say there is a chance of him joining."

To those who say that he left to join his boyhood club well BS he tried to fleece us for as much cash as possible. He would have stayed so I doubt he wanted to join Milan that bad. Hope it was worth it to play back up left back for some cheat club. If he had stayed he would have been a France regular I am sure of it. We may have also won something, because he and Cesc had the greatest partnership in midfield.

Apparently this has been mailed to fans, signed by AFC plc. Note how they don't consider Sanogo to be a signing at all...
Load of rubbish.

Wenger - Window won’t be repeat of 2011
Arsène Wenger is determined to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes on September 2.
The Arsenal manager completed his business before the start of the Premier League season last year but brought in Ju Young Park, Andre Santos, Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker during the final days of the 2011 summer window.
Wenger is confident of making additions in the next 10 days but says the Club will conclude deals differently to two years ago.
"At that time it was linked with injuries, we had unexpected long-term injuries and you cannot sit there and do nothing at all,” Wenger said. "If you have unexpected injuries you have to do something about it.
"We are not in need of numbers like we were at the time. We have our targets, we will try to achieve that and I am confident we will get there.
"I am confident [of new signings]. The desire of the players to join us [makes me confident] and the fact that we have - maybe not as much as everyone writes - but we have some funds available to do the transfers.
"Ideally I would rather have the squad in place at the start of the season and I am a big fan to cancel the transfer window at the start of the season anyway.
"Once the season has started you should be capable to focus on the quality of your play and have everybody with the same players for the whole season - it makes sense.
"We work very hard on it and it didn't come off as quickly or as well as we wanted, but in football you have to deal with any situation and be patient. So as long as the transfer [window] is open, until the last minute anything can happen on many fronts.
"I'm very, very happy with the squad we have. When I tell you that, it's about the quality of the players I have. With the number, at the moment we are short.
"Therefore I would be a bit worried that number-wise, we are not strong enough to cope with all the targets a club like this has. We will not go into the new season with only the number of players we have.”

Oh it exists alright, mate. But Wenger will spend it on a new bumper contract and pay rise for Diaby, paying him £120K per week; paying some African wonderkid £60K a week; paying Ashley Williams £80K a week; an improved contract for Bendtner and paying him £100K per week; and resigning Flamoney on £100k per week.lowerwest wrote:we are being set up for a very underwhelming last week of the transfer window you do all realise that.all that money we were supposed to have doesnt really exist at all.
Arsene knows.

I predict great things

Agreed, an African player would have to be significantly better than a player from elsewhere for them to be a sensible signing, as they miss too many games.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Drogba and Yaya Toure aren't typical though (not to mention we cannot buy them). The Gervinho signings was totally nuts. Not only was he very very average, but he was missing for 2 months every winter!

Mata was NEVER coming
Zaha was NEVER coming
Goetze was NEVER coming
Higuain was NEVER coming
Suarez was NEVER coming
Rooney isn't coming
Di Maria isn't coming
Benzema isn't coming
Sanogo has come in
Flamini will come in
Someone past it will come in on loan (my money's on Gareth Barry)
Ashley Williams will come in
A completely overpriced Michu has an outside chance of coming in
