SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If this is even remotely true, which it most likely isn't, it leaves me feeling like :banghead:

This isn't what we need! It feels like more of a luxury purchase rather than the essential transfers that we need to improve the team dramatically, i.e. a keeper, central defender and a battling midfielder. Once those have been locked down we then need a top class striker, and then he can spunk whatever he has left on someone like di Maria.
Di Maria won't join us anyway so I wouldn't worry

We are looking at being ripped off for Cabaye, Flamini on a free and some useless 20th choice striker who he will also pay over the odds for

No doubt! Yes we need defensive reinforcements, whether or not Cabaye and Flamini are what is needed who knows... it's certainly not what a top team, with our wealth, should be looking at.

This would be good! But again, I doubt it'll happen. Madrid will probably ask for close to £20 million.

if they signed him I would be seriously seriously pissed off - for me he is better than shrek and exactly the type of explosive striker we need 8) God I would love it if we signed him
Seriously?  The guy should be dominating almost any defence he plays against with his pace and physical power yet almost every time I see him play he struggles to do such a thing. Was absolutely awful for Brazil in the recent Confederations Cup and isn't particularly loved by the fans there or at Zenit. He very much reminds me of Julio Baptista and we all know how that one worked out!!  Sorry augie, but never in a million years is he anywhere near as good, let alone better than Rooney.
