SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He's a free agent so we can sign him even after the window closes so this farce of a thread can stay alive even if he's not in the bag after next Monday night. Hope springs eternal :barscarf:

If I thought that arsehole on SkySports that has the rolling orgasms (Jim White??) on the last day was going to self implode and drown in his own hysterical shit I'd probably stay up to watch it tbh. But waiting for Arsene to confirm we have signed some super super qualty African teenager, a French 2nd Division journeyman and that bloke from Crystal Palace that no one else wants? I can probably keep my cock in my kacks until the next morning.... :lol: :wink:

Rodders - I'm amazed to not have read about you in the papers yet. Surely you are only minutes away from an Arsene induced spree killing? Might I suggest you travel to our lovely capital and start the shooting on Abbey Street? 8)

I'm hearing reports that all the junkies on Abbey Street are either scum fans or AKB's - some are both! :shock:

They are going to taste amazing at first but sooner or later you are going to realise its just crackers.

4 days to go before we are fed "special" crackers.

He also said it can back fire on the ladys and after you finally get it after 3 months waiting she'd be there saying "I'm yours" and you say "Fuck you bitch. Fuck you and your pussy. Get the fuck out of my face"

Has anybody heard what's happening with Park Chu Young? It's like he's fallen off the Earth or something.

Him signing a contract extension will be the catalyst for the meltdown. My sanity is hanging by a thread at the prospect of saying au revoir in May '14. Shit's gonna get biblical if he signs though. :evil:

I've cut & pasted these from today's Metro....

From Today’s Metro:

Arsenal have enquired about Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld, according to reports.
The Gunners are currently short of options at the back, and are seemingly ready to push ahead with a bid for the 24-year-old Belgian.
Dutch sources claim the Gunners have been in contact with Ajax over the weekend to scope out the possibility of striking a deal after the Amsterdam outfit turned down a bid from Atletico Madrid.
Former Arsenal winger and current director of football at Ajax, Marc Overmars, said: ‘We have rejected the offer from Atletico Madrid for Toby Alderweireld.
‘We were contacted this weekend but it was not considered sufficient for a player of the national team of Belgium.’
Alderweireld has just one year remaining on his current contract, and it’s believed Ajax are looking for in excess of £6.5million for his services.
When asked about Arsenal’s interest in the defender, Overmars said: ‘They would need to pay the asking price, if we were to let one of our players go.’
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Arsenal targets Mesut Ozil and Iker Casillas edged closer to an exit from Real Madrid after their 1-0 win at Granada.
Casillas was once again forced to make do with a place on the bench, as coach Carlo Ancelotti kept faith in Diego Lopez, while Ozil was hauled off in the second-half and stormed straight down the tunnel.
Karim Benzema, whose future at the Bernabeu also remains unclear, made it two goals in two games, firing in the only goal of the match after 10 minutes.
It is believed Madrid are willing to listen to offers for Benzema, Ozil and Angel Di Maria in order to clear the decks for Gareth Bale’s impending world record move, while Liverpool’s Luis Suarez still remains a target.
Casillas’ situation remains more complicated, and while Madrid would be loath to lose their club captain and icon, his second-choice status under Ancelotti could force the goalkeeper himself to look for a move.
The Gunners have reportedly enquired about the Spanish no.1, while Benzema, Ozil and Di Maria have been touted around the Premier League and Arsene Wenger has a long-standing interest in all three.
Their departures, however, would only be sanctioned once a move for Bale has been completed, and even then, it’s likely that only two of the three will be sold.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Newcastle have told Arsenal to stump up £20million if they still want Yohan Cabaye.
The Gunners had an opening bid of £10m turned town for the French midfielder, but the Magpies’ director of football, Joe Kinnear, has since taken over negotiations.
Kinnear said: ‘We’ve told Arsenal our terms, the ball is in their court.’
Paris Saint Germain are also in the market for Cabaye but are yet to make an official move, while Arsenal are reported to be ready to come back in with a new offer approaching £17m by the end of the week.
Whether this will be enough to convince Newcastle to sell remains to be seen, but what’s clear is that Cabaye wants out of St James’ Park and will push to secure a move before the close of the transfer window on September 2.
Cabaye has missed Newcastle’s opening two Premier League against Manchester City and West Ham in the wake of Arsenal’s failed first bid for his services.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Arsenal are ready to capitalise on Gareth Bale’s impending move to Real Madrid by forking out £25.8million on Angel Di Maria.
The Spurs winger is set to complete a £77m switch to the Spanish giants within a matter of days, which will seemingly leave Di Maria out in the cold at the Bernabeu.
Despite Real’s initial stance that the Argentinean will not be sold, reports in Spain suggest Bale’s arrival may force last season’s league runners-up into a re-think and the Gunners are ready to pounce.
Karim Benzema would be another big name left fighting for his place in the Real line-up, but his agent insists a move to the Gunners is not on the cards.
‘We can’t stop the rumours. But I tell you: Karim will not go to Arsenal,’ Karim Djaziri has told French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
‘It’s never been a question for him and no contact has been made.’
