Di Maria is a fairy of the highest order and I would hate to see his diving antics at Arsenal, but I would suffer through it because he would make us better.

Ozil is a player I have loved for 4 years now and would enjoy him at the club (never going to happen) even though we are overloaded in that position.

Benzema I don't rate at all. For me he is no better than Giroud. Could use him for depth maybe but he is not the quality striker we need.

Resigned myself around the time we missed out (were we ever even interested) on Higuain that we would be getting no signings whatsoever, It was clear the way the reverse gears were hit as Suarez thing started to blow up that there was no way there was going to be any mega signings, the tour of the Far East was another nail in the coffin of any signings, the team looking great in friendly matches against no-one and you know who strolling around like god.

The slight fly in the ointment that was the Villa game was immediately followed up with talk of Benzema, Di Maria et al but as soon as we get a couple of wins, the old lines of we will only sign 'special' 'super quality' players was trotted out the writing was on the wall. I expect many on here could script how the statements over the next week will go.

i dont even want mega signings or marquee signings. any decent arsenal team there has ever been has relied on team strength rather one individual. maybe thierry henry bucked that trend a little but once we moved someone on we got something similiar or better in their place.that was wengers strength....picking up people like vieira,pires etc for peanuts really and moulding them into world class stars. sometime in the mid 2000s that stopped so vieira leaves and we replace from within the squad...adebayor goes we wait 2 years for chamakh mmm....and this summer we have spent absolutely fuck all despite gazidis hinting otherwise.i do feel we fans have been taken for mugs...looking at what spurs are spending playing in basically a similiar stadium to highbury and we scrapping around for freebies and knock offs in our enormodome.We went to the Emirates to enable us to compete with the big boys of Europe...sitting here in 2013 that sounds real funny.
