Why are so many people convinced we're fucked? :?

I get we're in a tough group, but what have people seen of Marseille and Napoli to give us such little chance of progressing? - personally, I think we have a good chance of scraping through. We're not a great side, but we're not as bad as some make out.

Absolutely. Dortmund are the stand-out team and it'd be a pretty big surprise if they didn't progress but Marseille and Napoli were miles off winning their domestic leagues which are far far weaker than ours. Despite the frustration and the woeful Villa performance the fact we haven't improved our squad hasn't suddenly made us a mid-table side.

Tbh that's why I'm looking forward to it - a genuinely competitive group where every game matters and where each of the teams has a realistic chance of going through. Much better than the usual group where a top seed can expect to face one half-decent side, one side who's a banker 3 points at home and may be a little tricky away and one pre-determined whipping boy.

It's the first time in a while that we've been drawn in a difficult group and it's about time because I'm sick to death of Wanker finding ways of fucking things up and finishing second year after year before being destroyed in the first leg of the second round. The Champions League is as boring as fuck and we have no chance, as usual.

How about Napoli and Higuain?....the guy who was supposed to be ours. That's the frustration......obviously,as a life long supporter (despite all the current crap) I always want us to win and do brilliantly. It could have been so different, that's my issue.

Yeah, it'll be tough but not hopeless, surely.

My issue is that some people are writing us off completely, and I find that bonkers.

Nice coastline though.

I stayed further up the coast in Cassis and hopped on the train to get to Marseille for the game.
+1 - was there for a week at France 98 to see Holland and England Play, and again in 2004.

Cassis is tops - a mini st tropez with great food and tons of fit birds. we stayed at the hotel next to the boule/petanque pitches. its about 20 mins in the car to the Velodrome.

some good restaurants in Marseille too.

for some beachy fun, La Ciotat or even Narbonne sur plage have better beaches and hotels.

France '98 was with Flight Options - about 80 Arsenal and Forest fans. 8)

Are these the definite dates then? I'll book for Dortmund, hopefully we'll have more than the 1300 we took last time, it was a class trip!

Champions League group F (for f***ing hell)

Post by foxinthebox2001 »

Napoli, Marseille, and B. Dortmund.
Shall we get our coat?
Paddy Power go both us and Spurs 16/1 to win the Premiership.
We are 33/1 to win the CL. I'm not interested even at that price.
We are like Celtic, only in it for the lolly and the jolly.

I think if we can beat Marseille & Dortmund at home we can scrape through . Napoli have added a lot of quality recently, and Dortmund have lost some and so have we.

I see a tight group with 4 similar teams. I hope we finish behind Napoli but have a hunch Dortmund will pip us.

City got a tougher group IMHO. Celtic could finish 2nd but would need a home win against Milan.

My thoughts exactly. It's a very tough group and we'll have to be up for every game but I'm still confident we'll go through. We have more experience and should have the psychological edge over Borussia and Napoli. You can say whatever you want about our current team and Wenger but over the past seasons, they have delivered when their backs were against the wall.

Anyway the games should be very tight and exciting. I wish the Champions League had 16 teams instead of 32, that way we'd have more tough groups and less predictable matches.

Don't worry too much, I think we're going through. Borussia, Marseille and Napoli are not Bayern, PSG and Juventus.

I'm sure we will scrap through but we have nowhere near enough players to play cl and pl and compete so either get that chq book out and somehow scrape a decent squad out of it or fuck off and let someone with a bit of passion to take over
