SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yes Rooney is coming as you have been saying all summer! :rubchin:
A txt I got a couple of weeks back, told me Rooney is coming. I have no reason not to believe the person who sent it to me.
I showed it to a few mates against Villa.
I hope it happens, surely Wenger has something up his sleeve?
You can't be serious......afraid you will be sadly disappointed.
Hopefully I wont be, like I said, surely Wenger has something up his sleeve.
My friend, I think you have too much faith in a crazy old man.

This will then be followed up by a lecture about how crazy the transfer fees are - from the man who received £22m for Anelka in 1999, £25m for Overmars in 2000, £24m for sulky Nasri who had given us 6 good months in 3 years and was nearly out of contract, £25m for greedy flash in the pan Adebayor, £16m for perenially overweight Toure, £15m for donkey Song and £35m for Fabregas in effect (which although we should have got more is still twice as much as we've ever spent on any player). Expects clubs to pay us these sorts of prices but then sell theirs to us for half that.
spot on.

Yep, but don't worry, the cult of Wanker and his AKBs will always protect him.

Fuck me - don't tell me he had to make a late detour to the Champagne region to make sure the Diamond Club was well stocked for this weekend

The most hilarious aspect is the shock and horror at what has been an absolutely inevitable outcome from day 1 i.e. a transfer profit, Wenger's bonus earned for another year and a couple of token freebie signings

I predict no spend at all in January either

The strange thing is that if the club hadnt talked about making big signings, and had signed a couple of decent players for around 15 million each, it would have appeased alot of the fans. Instead the club told us how we would spend large amounts on world class players, with no intention of this ever happening. We are now a laughing stock, and personally im ashamed of this once great football club.

Maybe the plan is to diversify into real estate......

I'm starting to take a keen interest in the Daggers now - i think Arsenal should sponsor them 8)

Speaking of the devil...

Kaka: Brazil international wants to leave Real Madrid

Brazil international Kaka says he wants to leave Real Madrid before the transfer window closes.

The 31-year-old, who cost Real £56m, does not think he will get much playing time under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, his former manager at AC Milan.

The 2007 World Player of the Year is battling fellow playmakers Mesut Ozil, Isco and Luka Modric for a place.

"The club knows I want to leave and I would like them to help me find a solution for my exit," he said.

"Things are difficult for me here, there is less room in the squad all the time.

"I am ready every day to train and work but that does not mean that I am happy."

Kaka, who is believed to be one of the best paid players in the world, has ruled out a return to Brazil.

"I cannot go to Brazil because the market is closed, the exit would be within Europe," he said.

"I don't want to talk about clubs because I have none at this stage."

Kaka started his career at Sao Paulo before moving to Milan where he won the Ballon d'Or and Fifa World Player of the Year award.
