SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I started the transfer window in my usual optimistic mood, convinced we would make a couple of marquee signings. Now I'm desperate for some average quality players to save us from a humiliating season.
I'm desperate for AW to go but I don't want to see us humiliated, because, like the Victims it could be a long, long journey back.
Erickson for 8-10 mil would be a good place to start.

I am not even remotely embarrassed about being an Arsenal supporter. I enjoyed when we were run well and may well despair at how we are being disgracefully mismanaged but we are still the Arsenal and will be when we are run properly again. I am happy to grin and bear it in the knowledge that I still believe this season will be a watershed. Wenger will spend poorly and fail....resigns or sacked.
Wenger will spend well and fail....resigns or sacked. Wenger will spend and succeed...happy days for god's own club and its fans. I doubt the 3rd option is a goer.

The fact that it is Augest 30th and we have bought NO ONE makes me sick.

How this man is still allowed to manage any club is beyond a joke.

I think it's really sad.

Five years ago I wouldn't have taken any sh1t from anyone who mocked our club.

Now I'm sat in the office and we're all laughing at the AW trolley dash video.

Look at what this club has done to its fans

It's bad enough that the old senile c**t isn't buying any quality players but now he feels entitled to have a pop at how the scum have behaved in the transfer window ?? At least they show some ambition and understand that when you sell your top player you need to go out and reinvest that money or else you are no better than southampton
Fcuk off you d**khead

I'm completely happy with what we do and how we do things. I don't share the criticisms that are made of my (transfer) team.'
Notice how he describes it? MY transfer team! Dick Law, Krankies right hand man, and he is Wangers. That tells you all you need to know about who runs the transfer dealings (if you ever had any doubt)!!

I hear that Bob Wilson is signing on a pay as you play to provide competition to Fabianski and Chezzer.

There are bigger deals in the pipeline to including one involving a defibrillator and Cliff Bastin. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Me too, the thing with signing average quality players now will be maybe just maybe we'll somehow grab 4th again and on it goes, I now think only utter humiliation will get rid of Wenger, i.e. if we lose to the Spuds on Sunday, go out the champs league and couple of serious thumping's elsewhere and maybe some leads thrown away and a cup humiliation (so nothing there that we have suffered in the last few years) and he might be gone by Xmas, that way say were 10th in the league (but not mega points behind) out of Europe and Capital One Cup, it will give whoever the new manager is a decent squad to build on, couple of signings in January and we can have a go at the FA cup and see if we can push for 4th, knowing that next summer the money is there and maybe in the hands of someone that might spend it.

Thats about as much a I dare dream for now

Its sad to think how good we could be if we spent some money this season. Yet again mr wanker has decided to make a 10million profit and think that 2 free signings are all we need. We've been confirmed in the champions league for 3days and we've done nothing, its clearly not the board stopping us from buying its Arsene Wanker and his profit policy. We've made around £70 million profit since we moved to the new ground on transfers so there is no excuse about not being able to spend. Hopefully I'm proved wrong but I very much doubt it
