Wenger hints at Arsenal singing a third GK:
Vito Mannone joined Sunderland this summer and Wenger has not ruled out adding depth to the goalkeeping position before the window closes.
“When Mannone went, we were open to having a third goalkeeper, because if something happens, you are quickly very short,” Wenger added.
“We have Emi Martinez as number three, but he has no experience at all in the Premier League, that is why we always had an eye open, and this position is not completely closed yet.”

Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
I don't agree Swifty - considering our position (consistently far away from winning trophies) I think we're still an attractive proposition for players. Higuain would have come, Suarez would have come as would have countless other quality players had we agreed fees. Yeah we're still not able to shop at the top table but saying that neither are the likes of Citeh, United or Chelsea and without doubt if we were willing to spend the money we would have been able to put together a squad capable of winning the league this season.Swifty wrote:You can bag Mourinho and Fergie but at least players wanted to play for them - no one wants to play for Wenger (or Moyes). AVB even has more pull than Wenger and he still has training wheels.
Who have Spurs signed (because of AVB) that wouldn't have come to us?

Every day I get home from work and chuckle when I see that we've made no visible efforts to sign anyone decent.

At this point of the window I think we'll activate Vela's buyback clause and that's it. The wanker absolutely destroyed what could and should be a brilliant summer for us.

Dear God....please yes, because if it happens we should invite Baba back just to start the banter with McDowell all over again.
Kalou is an Arsenal player - FACT
I can't wait to hear that statement
Still, it sounds like we've got stiff competition from our rivals West Brom and West Ham !

Nobody available at the right price
Quiet market
Football lives in an unsustainable bubble
We stay true to our values
We work day and night analysing every single player in the world
People say we do not want to spend, but we are ready I assure you
There are two markets - one external and one internal for the development of younger players
If we can add one or two quality players we will look to do it

Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
So lets have a recap
Ozil, Benzema & DiMaria have all said they want to stay at Madrid
Casillias, even if he leaves, a bigger, more ambitious club than us will come in
Kaka, will go to AC Milan
Draxler, can't see this happening
Cabaye, we wont pay the asking price
Sakho, we don't seem to be getting a mention re. him
Mata, Torres, anyone from Chelsea, forget it, Jose would never sanction it.
Same with Barry or Richards or anyone from Man City
The midfielder from St Etienne, a possibility
Michu or Williams, all gone quiet on this
Kalou, this sounds about the most realistic of all the above
Did I miss anyone?

If Sagna or Jenkinson get a knock on Sunday I sense a pant-wettingly exciting last minute bid for the right back from Toulouse.....Aurier ??The Knowing One wrote:So lets have a recap

Juan Mata is consigned to the bench yet again for Chelsea tonight, but he’s odds-on (2/9) to stay at Stamford Bridge and 3/1 to leave. Arsenal are the current favourites at 3/1 while Man Utd are out to 16/1. See all our transfer odds here.
Lets see if There's Only One can get knocked back one more time

Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
According to French broadcaster beIN Sport, Paris St Germain have agreed to sell unsettled defender Mamadou Sakho to Liverpool for €23million (£19.6m). The broadcaster's chairman is Nasser al Khelafi, who is also the chairman of PSG, while Sakho has been left out of the squad for Saturday's game against Guingamp
Such a 'quiet market' - especially for all those clubs who missed out on the Be All and End All League

Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
St Mirren have finalised the signing of striker Stephane Bahoken on a season-long loan from Nice. Buddies boss Danny Lennon said: "Stephane is a striker, 6ft 2ins, powerful and quick. He's made 22 appearances for Nice, got four goals. He's the one we've been waiting for but I believe he's been worth the wait."
Bastards St Mirren - he sounds like one we'd have been scouting day and night

I must admit I was speechless when I caught a bit of Wenger today saying that with bringing in new signings, you risk disrupting the squad................this man and his entourage have to go.
