6 of us booked on Air Berlin to Dusseldorf at £176 a pop, any tips on the best places to stay would be appreciated.

I know it's not going to be as good as Munich for drinking but we land Wednesday morning, so hope to be knocking a few steins back by lunch time

I know its going past it to come back on yourself but couldn't be arsed with trains from other places and Munich straight into Dortmund

That's a hell of a detour. You do realise it's a 6/7 hour train journey from Munich to Dortmund?

Maybe my English is not good enough... Could be totally wrong, but he didn't say he's going by train, did he, booked flights via Munich, must be a flight to Munich and Munich to Dortmund, right? If not, is there a Munich near Dortmund that nobody has heard of yet?

Calais to Dortmund takes about 4 to 5 hrs during the day but be careful the Antwerp ring road can be a nightmare and add 1 or 2 hrs to your journey
Dortmund to Calais at night with a full tank can be done in 3hrs 20mins allegedly

Thoma Cook deal wasn't renewed, didn't do Istanbul and not exactly rushed into announcing a new deal yet and still no news yet on Marseilles- nearly as bad as signing a player

very quickly, I plan on driving to Dortmund

does anyone remember from two years ago how much tickets were?

furthermore did anyone previously drive it? any tips?

anything good going on in Dusseldorf? Doing a father son trip so nothing to crazy..

In terms of the drive think we pass through Antwerp and Eindhoven and it takes a total of 6hours30...

Any info advice or whatever would be awesome

Not Dortmund related, but was interested to see that Marseille away tickets are £40, down from £65 two years ago. They obviously needed our money for the stadium revamp back then!

hello chaps i went Dortmund, 45 Euros for the ticket, Dortmund, theres a square, which was full of Gooners dancing and singing match day, and Dusseldorf, not been myself, but know many who have stayed there and nightlife is amazing! oh, and brasses are good there

If you're coming over for the CL Dortmund away (Nov 6th), just add a couple of more nights to your stay in Germany and watch some German League matches, e.g.Cologne - Union Berlin (Monday, Nov 4th, 20.15 k.o.)

Schalke - Bremen (Sat, Nov 9th, 15.30 k.o.)
Leverscum - Hamburger SV (Sat, Nov 9th, 15.30 k.o.)

Düsseldorf - Sandhausen (Sun, Nov 10th, 13.30 k.o.)

Im all booked up, Flying Mon morning at 7am from Luton and back Friday night to Luton again, Return flights cost me £59 and then 4 nights in the amazing looking Unique Novum hotel in Dortmund cost £75 for all for nights and it really does look superb

Booked Eurostar to Brussels and then an intercity from there to Cologne, out early Tuesday, back Thursday lunchtime, £117 return.

Going to grab a local train from Cologne to Dusseldorf and back when necessary - should be cheap and doesn't take that long.

Yes, indeed. With your ticket free public transport is included on matchday for use of busses, metro, tube, local/regional Deutsche Bahn trains (S, RB,RE (= supplement free trains only) - NOT valid on IC, ICE, EC) in and around Dortmund (large parts of the Ruhrarea and northern parts of the Rhineland (e.g. Düsseldorf area) until ca 3.00 am after the match.
