Didn't he say the same thing at the Shareholders meeting when one or two supporters pulled him up on why we were so poor - he replied something like "I don't know why you complain when I have made you money (increased the share value ) which just goes to show his priority and lack of understanding that as fans we want a team that performs not a share price.

The last time we hijacked a transfer, it was a great success...mcdowell42 wrote:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ff-2240934

Jefferson Montero
Absolutely fucking clueless. We're like the useless, drunk old bastard in the nightclub at the end of the evening, just before the lights are about to come on. All the attractive girls have been woo'd and have long been taken home whilst we stumble aimlessly from one ropey piece of skirt to the next, desperate to find someone, anyone who'll come home with us.

Tony Adams believes the balance of the Arsenal side is all wrong – and has urged Arsene Wenger to find ‘the new Gilberto’.
The former Gunners star captained one of the most miserly sides in the Premier League era, a team which prided itself on its defensive solidity.
And he feels those are the values lacking in the current side.
Adams told Hawksbee and Jacobs: “The problem with Arsenal in recent years is they have been too open. They are very susceptible to the counter attack.
“Since Gilberto went, that screen has been missing. The balance is all wrong. They are too gung-ho, the full-backs bomb forward and there is no security. That’s the big problem.
“They need to find the player – either in the system or go out and buy him – to go into that holding midfield role. They need someone in there who can break up play when they throw everyone forward.”
Arsenal fans are frustrated by a lack of activity in the transfer market and, with Lukas Podolski now expected to be out for at least two months, the clamour to sign a new striker will grow.
But Adams insists strike power is not the issue.
“Arsenal will always score goals,” he added. “They can score goals from all the pitch. There is no problem going forward.
“They have enough offensive players. They just need someone to lock it up when it breaks down.
“I can understand the frustration of the fans. They’ve seen a lot of top players go out of the door in recent years and you can’t win anything without the best players, and too many have gone.
“They need to be looking for the next best Gilberto. There's a kid at Sporting Lisbon, Eric Dier, who's English, he's 19, maybe he could fill the gap? He certainly wouldn't cost £30m or £50m. So can Arsene [Wenger] unearth another one? That’s what I’d be looking for.”

It now looks like Moses is moving to Liverpool on loan:spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:I wonder if there is any truth to the Mata rumours. I just had a glance at Chelsea's squad and they have 23 players that have to be registered (under 21s are excluded) and you can only register 21, so that is atleast 2 players leaving. Also and I may be mistaken, but I only count 6 or 7 Chav players who have played for an English club for 3 years prior to turning 21 so I don't think they can afford to sell Moses from that POV.
Essentially I see this happening:
Demba Ba is certain to leave but they would still need to get rid off 1 more. I would be suprised if anyone wanted Torres given the money he is on. Mourinho loves Essien and besides they need defensive cover. The signing of Etoo really complicates things for Chelsea, especially with Willian.
ATM for forwards they have (excluding Ba)
Hazard, Mata, Moses, Oscar, Willian, Schurrle
Lukaku, Torres, Etoo,
There's no way Mourinho can keep all of them happy, especially as he loves to play 1 CF (usually big and strong). Whilst i'm 99% sure Mourinho would love to sacrifice Torres for reasons mentioned I don't think it will happen and if they sell Moses they would have to replace him with an U21 grown in which case it would be fairly pointless and therefore not as obvious as you may think.
I think there is something going on. Maybe Mourinho wanted to use Mata as exchange material for Rooney had a change of heart. I could be overthinking it but there may be a chance.

The perils of transfers after the off - Swansea last after two - the fans wouldn't accept the 2 leaving.SteveO 35 wrote:We can only hope Swansea are true to their word. Actually I wouldn't mind Williams but not the one season wonder
