SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

I can't believe anybody would be happy signing Cabaye (apart from Mike Ashley who is about to receive a bank balance boost by offloading Joe Average)

I don't have an opinion on him yet, as I've just not seen enough of him.

Pardew recently described Cabaye as "world class", whereas you've just said he's a "useless piece of French shite".

So based on those ridiculously polar opposite opinions of the same player, I can't say I trust anyone's assessment of Cabaye at the moment. I'll just have to make my own mind up if and when he starts playing for us.

Heaven forbid that Pardew would be describing him that way to inflate his value ???!!!

Mark my words - when he signs he will be underwhelming in the extreme and not able to hold down a regular first team place. He'll sign for 4 years on £80k+ per week and will see out a maximum of 2 of those before being permanently listed and farmed out on loan

Three reported Arsenal targets in the Real matchday squad. Angel di Maria played the full 90, Karim Benzema was subbed after 73 minutes, while Mesut Ozil didn't get off the bench.

He is not shite by any means but is worth nowhere near the rumoured price As I said yesterday, he to me is a very similar player to arteta (except better on set pieces) and I would be distinctly underwhelmed by his signing Imo he is exactly the type of signing that most of us refer to when we expressed our preference for wenker not to spend at this stage of the transfer window

The possible signing of that viviano bloke would be typical wenker - sign a virtually unknown rather than sign cesar (European keeper of the year 3 years ago) who is on his doorstep. Akb's will argue that cos it would be a loan deal there is no transfer fee so zero risk but I would counter that by point to the minimal transfer fee for cesar and make no mistake, cesar is only on the bench cos the twitcher wants him off the payroll and is hanging a "for sale" sign around his neck

The possible availability of casillas is an intriguing one - the reports coming out of spain recently suggest that he has been jeered by Madrid fans any time he has played and there is no way casillas will want to spend a world cup year getting splinters up his arse on the Madrid bench. I never thought I would say that but because Madrid are eager to sell, I honestly believe that he would be available - obviously we wont buy him but I do feel if a big club went in for him that could very well get him

Yeah, that seems to be the case. Good player, just not what we need... and hardly a signing that will push us to the next level.

No problem with signing him though, as maybe Wenger feels Arteta is on the decline, but I'd be underwhelmed if we don't sign a striker and creative, goalscoring midfielder (Benzema, Ozil and di Maria should do it)
