AW quote from this article:

"The transfer market, I don't deny, is a problem for me. It conflicts with the period when the season has started already".

Yes, that's why you use the TEN FUCKING WEEKS before the season starts to make the signings. Why is this so difficult?

“My ideal squad would consist of 17 to 18 players and they would be young players. If you have too many in a squad you never have the chance to give a young player an opportunity.

“Once you have 25 senior players you can send your academy to the moon because no one will ever get the chance to play. Buying players is not as easy any more. There are more contenders and more great players."

check my previous posts, this is what I have accused wenger of doing, putting the careers of players, young players, ahead of the club's ability to win trophies. This is disgraceful, why he behaves as if he is here to rule arsenal forever.

I can't forget how long we kept almunia because fabianski needed to come in, or now we have szcenzny, how I heard we had no funds, yet spent 12M on the OX.

The man has served his purpose and is now holding this club back, the structure at the club is crippling us. There is absolutely no rationale for him to sign a new contract, he has to leave. Sadly the club is in such a mess that removing wenger will be like trying to remove a tick with a plastic spoon.

Why did we move from Highbury if we were looking to promote only youth? We don't pay some of the highest ticket prices in world football for the fun of coming to an academy every other week ffs. If you feel that signing proper, proven, experienced players is harmful to our youngsters then please dramatically cut the cost of my tickets.

We all know the reasons why

As the then Managing Director Keith Edelman explained before the move, the financial benefits of the Club's historic move will allow Arsenal to sustain their competitiveness at the highest level. "Our aim is to be a leading European club and, once we get into the new stadium, we will be in that position. It is very income-generous to us," he said.

WENGER - “Isn’t being a football manager about developing a player and making him a better one? Or are we just going out and buying them now?
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/footba ... ene-Wenger
I actually think that's very worrying because it confirms what we already knew - Wenger is more focused on developing young players than bringing on field success to Arsenal.

Yes, he wants BOTH - and believes the former will lead to the latter - but when push comes to shove, he's always prioritised developing young players over on field success.

That's why I've lost faith in him. I'm not convinced his mindset in compatible with where Arsenal are supposed to be heading.

What can you say about Wenger? Not only he doesn't know what he's doing, he doesn't even know what he's saying too. This guy needs to see a shrink and get the fuck out of the club asap

Which is all well and good if you can point to a string of players we have developed from the academy and who have now shown themselves good enough to play at the top level but we have wilshere who has shown flashes of that potential and not one other player has shown anything remotely near the quality required

In fairness, I don't think he just enjoys developing players from the academy. He enjoys working with young players, whether he's signed them or not. Like he did with Henry, Anelka, Cesc, RVP, Song, etc. and is doing now with Ramsey, Jack, Theo, Ox, Gibbs, etc.

That's what he likes doing. He doesn't like the idea of spending big on a ready made world class player. And that's why we're always a few pieces short of a complete jigsaw (much like his sanity, perhaps   )

No, that's the role of the academy coach you cretin. You want to develop young players? Should have applied for Liam Brady's old job then. Or maybe that doesn't pay well enough for you? :banghead:

That's what I was thinking. If he enjoys developing young players so much, just make him the head of youth development once Liam Brady leaves at the end of the season.

That would satisfy both AKBs and WOBs  8)

No No No - get him the fcuk out of our club cos if the :cussing: is in the background then he wont be able to stop himself from interfering. A man whose control extends to selecting the colour of the walls in the colney will not hand over power easily especially if results don't go well in the beginning as we would expect when a new manager comes in and tries to shake things up

Agree with this, which is why I despise the idea of him "moving upstairs" when he does finally leave as manager. You can imagine him sticking his nose into fucking everything. Once he goes, he should be gone completely, for good. Clean break and a clean start please.

Remember this article is only 7 weeks old and what's changed since then? He's got us into the Champions League group stage and earned Kroenke another £10m in transfer profit.
