Why's it called Pravda???

Pravda is a Russian newspaper which is the mouthpiece of the Communist Party and during the Soviet era was renowned for it's propaganda, highlighting of small success stories as major world news, loyalty to the President and always putting a positive spin on everything. It also made no mention of any bad news at all.

The Arsenal website is nicknamed Pravda because it appears to fulfil a similar function as the newspaper but for Arsenal instead of Russian Communism.

Pravda means "truth" in Russian and Arsenal.com says the truth and nothing but the truth

But seriously, Pravda was also a Soviet newspaper that was a mouthpiece for the Soviet government, just like Arsenal.com is a mouthpiece for the club. Some people criticise them for that but I don't.
