As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well said!! He was pish for England on Tues night, just like he is most games for us, but we mustn't criticise England's great white hope.
The arrival of Ozil will make it interesting to see where or if Wilshire plays. I have to say he is the one so called first team player we really don't miss when he is out injured.
I'm sure you were saying the same thing about Ramsey and look how he's turned out after finally getting over his injury.
Jack is 21 ffs. He's got his whole career in front of him. Luckily we are not desperate for him to contribute as we have many viable options in midfield so he can develop in peace. He's also missed a year of development. Give him some time ffs.
hmmm... Ramsey's had what? A handful of good games in the last 2 years? Admittedly he's been hugely improved this season but I've seen so many false dawns where Ramsey is concerned I'll wait until he's put in a whole season of good performances before I rate him higher than "average".
Hope he proves me wrong as I genuinely like him.
But I agree that writing off Jack at this stage is just silly. He's young, been injured long term and is still trying to find his way and learn his craft. Sure, he might not make it, but just as equally he could do. He certainly has more in his armoury at this stage than most players.

Indeed I was, he has had a good start to the season against largely inferior opposition ( the spuds excluded, but this was probably his least impressive performance)
So if he has a good season and does well against the better sides, then I will accept that I got it wrong, but I'm still far for convinced, just as I am with Giroud.
As for Wilshire? well he hasn't even been impressive agaInst same said opposition.
Been off here a while but you can still rely on Sid to be controversial.
For his age Wilshere is a class act, but no he is not world class yet. I think it's the media in this country that have built him up to a level where he isn't, also the pressure that is put on the lad, especially when it comes to England is so over the top it unbelievable. "England in dire straights as Wilshere pulls out of squad injured". It shows the state of affairs at international level to be honest. But although don't totally agree with Sid, see where he's coming from. Although I remember saying the same about fabregas and still think he was overrated.
Time will tell on jack but he's a great prospect that's for sure.
I think a lot of people are going to look very stupid in a couple of years time!! Albeit I concede the point that goonersid has appeared like that for ages, so we wouldn't be able to tell the difference!!
Jack is a very good player, who isn't yet world class, but could get to that level.
I am glad he is at our club not somewhere else.
He gets little protection from ref's for the constant fouling of him that goes on when he effortlessly drifts past opponents - the ankle taps, body checks etc.
The prospect of him with Santi and Ozil is mouthwatering but we need the right midfield balance between flair and the work needed when opponents have the ball to win it back.

Santi Ozil and Jack mouthwatering. No mention of Rambo? With Flamini starting as DM.I think Wilshere will have to fight for a starting place as his lack of goals when we have only one striker wont help his cause. We need goals from midfield till we sign Suarez in jan
Our midfield is comfortably the best in the league. I'm trying to remember when we had as much quality in midfield. The Invincibles had a brilliant midfield but not as much depth.

Hmmm....its arguably the best in the league. To be honest the Chavs have got a lot of strength in there too, but its definitely up there with the best
Sadly our goalkeeper, defence and attack are not and I find it incredible that we're already down to Sagna at CB and sweating on the fitness of Le Chapman.
I see Higuain notched again and Napoli are top of their league. Would we rather be entering this tough group stage of the CL with him in our squad or Napoli's
I also wouldn't say comfortably the best in the league (especially taking into account our lack of natural wide midfielders). Ozil is absolutely class and Cazorla is also a great player to add to a number of good supplementary options but as SteveO said Chelsea have a lot of quality and depth, and you also can't ignore a midfield pairing of Yaya Toure and David Silva at Citeh.

Ramsey has had a great start to the season and long may it continue - but its the quick combination play of the 3 I mentioned that I am looking forward to seeing in action.
Rambo has been getting in great positions for a year or so but not usually finishing off with a composed finished - Theo would do well to take note.

Outside of Toure and Silva Citeh don't have much if I'm honest. Milner, Rodwell, Nasri, Garcia, Fernandinho? Meh.
Chavs are closest to us in terms of midfield quality and depth, but when you look at their central midfield options, Mikel is average, Lampard and Essien are passed it, Van Ginkel is a nobody. The only one who could get into our team is Ramires.
Chambo is a natural wide midfielder to answer to your lack of natural wide midfielders quip.
