Change your av mate. I can't read your posts for cracking up at it.

Usmanov still wants the club as the ultimate gift- he is 60 on 9th September but don't think he will get it yet !

However,I expect some form of statement between now and then-lets call it the "Birthday Speech " -perhaps after the September 2nd deadline. Even if we do spend £100m , will just change the content but he / Red & White remain active and positive in all Arsenal matters.

Never before in the whole of human endeavour has one thread contained so much absolute ITK bullshit. And I include the infamous Joe Cole thread in that.

I have spoken to 3 agents who have had dealings with Dick Law and his name appears to be out of a cartoon but accurate

A proper dick who know fuk all about our laws- who knows his history and cv please, i cant be bothered to even look it up but how and where did he appear on the scene anyway ?

Dick Law is a Stan Kranky man, based in Dallas I think I read somewhere.
This was a newspaper article when he was appointed -

Arsenal have made their final appointment to the executive team in Richard Law, bringing to an end the recruitment process that began with the departure of the former chief executive David Dein in April 2007.

Law, a trilingual American who speaks Spanish and Portuguese, will take responsibility for player contracts in support of the chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, and the club secretary, David Miles. The appointment formalises a long-standing consultancy role Law has held with Arsenal's scouting operation in South and Central America.

Arsenal have been keen to stress that Law will not become a traditional director of football, a role that might suggest the diminution of the manager's influence. Arsène Wenger will remain the supreme decision-maker at the club, with Law instead acting as a facilitator for the manager and Gazidis.

Law, who has been central to the club's partnership with Salamanca, the Spanish second division side who have taken several Arsenal players on loan, will also act as a buffer from the management team for agents attempting to place players with the north London club.

Upon Dein's departure Wenger made clear his intention to bring in an executive to assist him in his transfer dealings but with Miles and Gazidis jointly assuming those responsibilities, the position has been recalibrated. The new appointment ensures Arsenal have a single point of contact on transfer matters.

Let's just be thankful that now we have a single point of contact, it's made signing players so much easier and quicker!! :banghead: :banghead:

tee cee- thanks but i have already posted that same wording a couple of days ago on the transfers thread- trouble is some of these things overlap and have dual purpose but either way he is still a Dick and not a Richard

That man needs to be given a more permanent platform, couldn't agree more with everything he said. I would love the points he raised to go directly to Wenger/Gazidiz in an open forum of sorts, watch them squirm.

Law may be based in Dallas but as far as Arsenal is concerned he's a David Dein man not a Kroenke man. As mentioned above he worked on behalf of the club in Latin America for more than a few years, was instrumental in bring Gilberto and others to Highbury, and Dein described him as both 'a good friend' and 'our man on the spot who we trust implicitly'. As also mentioned above, Wenger has the final say on everything at the club, which pretty much ties in with Neil Ashton's description of Law as 'popular with agents around the world, but they become frustrated when he pulls the plug on deals because Wenger must always have the final word'.

Arsenal supporters want more investment as club remains in profit

Despite splashing out on Mesut Özil, Arsenal supporters' groups have called for further significant investment over the next two transfer windows after the club's financial results revealed they are still sitting on a large cash pile.

The club's results to the end of May 2013, which do not take into account their summer transfer dealings, show that the club had £153.5m in the bank.

Even taking the £42.5m signing of Özil into account and the reserves required to fund the business, the Arsenal Supporters' Trust believes Arsène Wenger should have up to £80m to spend over the next two transfer windows. That financial firepower is underlined by the expected contribution of new commercial deals with Emirates and a new kit supplier (expected to be Puma), the full effects of which will not be seen until this financial year.

Previously Arsenal's earning power was depressed by the long-term deals signed to underwrite the move to the Emirates. The accounts show that pre-tax profits were down to £6.7m from £36.6m the previous year, largely as a result of a smaller profit on player trading, despite the sale of Robin van Persie to Manchester United and a £10m one-off impairment charge on writing down the value of players.

They also show an 8% uplift in the wage bill to £153.5m. But on the plus side they also reflect increased turnover of £242.8m, up from £235.3m last year, largely as a result of the first benefits of the new £150m deal with Emirates to sponsor their shirts and stadium. Arsenal's chairman, Sir Chips Keswick, talked up the signing of Özil – calling him "one of the world's best players" – but said the club would continue to follow a prudent course.

"It is my job to ensure we steer further along the course we have set," he said. "We must continue to grow commercially to provide the club with the best opportunity to achieve success and we must do this in a way which remains true to our values and which ensures and protects the long-term sustainability of the club."

He underlined, however, that significant sums remained available for Wenger to spend, if he deemed it necessary. "With the Özil transfer I believe we have made a significant statement and when Arsène decides the time is right to invest again Stan Kroenke, myself and the rest of the board will be delighted to support him."

The Arsenal Supporters' Trust, which has consistently called for more investment in the playing squad, said it believed the 2012-13 results would represent "the last year of Arsenal selling its best players to achieve profitability as the substantial increases in revenue from both renewed TV contracts and commercial deals come on stream."

"We are encouraged that since the season ended much progress has been made by Arsenal to remove the non-performing players from the wage bill. This pruning has allowed scope for more concentrated wage spend," said an AST spokesman.

"Looking forward, Arsenal are in a healthy financial position, with substantial cash reserves. The AST continues to urge the club to invest the money it has to further strengthen the current first-team squad and improve the chances of winning silverware. Substantial funds are available for additional transfer and wage spend without affecting self-sustainability."

Keswick also underlined the board's confidence in Wenger, whose contract expires at the end of the season. "We have a manager in Arsène who is as focused and determined to win trophies as he was when he first arrived," said the Arsenal chairman, who took over from Peter Hill-Wood in June.

Good profit.

But us fans have paid for that, literally, and at the cost of sacrificing eight seasons.
