Once again I thought we defended very well, one wilshere brain fart aside. On the subject of Jack I think he's coming back towards form.

Of course I'm not allowed to praise our defending because obviously swansea are shite

Szczesney had a great game proving perhaps his errors are down to his attitude rather than ability, Gnarby looked good, took his goal without fuss or panic and generally went at them. Maybe I am reading Jack wrong but is it possible he doesn't like not being the main man and as a result tries to do the impossible ? I am delighted for Ramsey, he has/had his critics , myself included, but I don't think I have ever been happier for an individual Arsenal player.
At two up we were comfortable but at the end were hanging on a bit...their goal came from causal play by Sagna and Mert. That is the worry , it has become a media cliche to bang on about our defence but their record is ok but the lapses can be fatal. Not that I wish for this but another massive test for this team will be their reaction to a defeat.
Wilshere main man? He'll be warming the bench as soon as Santi gets fit.

Gnabry was 1 y/o when Le Prof took the reigns at Highbury. :?

If ever a game demonstrated how two teams playing 4-5-1 can choke football to fucking death, this was it.  Awful to watch at times, boring at others.

BUT.

A good 3 points away from home and a confidence builder to win and go top. I thought Chesney did very well. Couple of great saves, but more importantly he dominated his area more than he has done of late. Ramsey continues on a great run of form and I am delighted for him. I totally wrote him off last season after he had been utter utter shite for over two years but I'd love him to continue and prove me wrong. This is a player that chose The Arsenal over the Filth. I hope he can keep this level up all season but a part of me feels he won't. Just a negative bastard I suppose... :|

Gnabry was the difference, in a way. We were totally bogged down in a tippy tappy-fest with the two 4-5-1's cancelling each other out and he was the only player to take the ball and drive directly at the oppo. It stirred things up, it made our lads a bit more confident to have a go and it put them on the back foot long enough for us to get our first, which was a brilliant clinical finish.

Negatives? Jack looks tired and a bit out of ideas, although he had some nice touches and was great in the build up to the goal. I also think the ammount of clinical niggly little fouls he has done on him every game is affecting him mentally. He feels persecuted and unprotected. He needs to get past that the way someone like Messi does, the way DB10 and Henry did. Take the hit, get up and outclass them. (and sometimes leave a stray one in too!)

The worst thing about all this though is Arsene. We have a pretty good team. A good first 11. But we all know if he doesn't add at least 3 or 4 quality players in key positions in January we will simply fall by the wayside again come February/March when injuries and loss of form will account for a few players. It's the predictableness of this that angers and frustrates me the most.

This season of all seasons it's there to be won. Manure have a manager that is not up to the job, a small club man thrust into the biggest job in Engerland, he will fail. Citeh are unpredictable but beatable. And the Chav's second golden shower (or "dawn" or whatever the fuck they are calling it  ) with Moron-hio MkII is not working out the way they thought. This is our best chance to win the fucking thing since 2008 and what will Arsene have learned from that season? Nothing. This taints my enjoyment of a brilliant start to the season. :( :|

Jack definitely looked cream & crackered before half-time...and Gnabry hasn't had his 'footballing instincts' coached out of him yet. I think the same if we don't buy anyone in the January window to shore up the obvious weaknesses (as well as strengthen our rice paper thin squad) the purchase of Ozil will have been a half-completed job, we desperately still need a Striker, A CB and a Goalie of real worth....

At some point Giroud will get crocked, as will BFG & Kos and TV5 (love him as we might) ain't good enough, and shez is gonna have a howler at some point...and needs someone to really challenge him...

We (supporters) made Jack our main man, even with Santi joining we pined for Jack's return..Now with Ozil's arrival we cannot wait for Santi's return to see how they gel together. Jack is a fantastic footballer who needs to channel his skill and competitiveness for the team. I agree 100% that he should be the one most vulnerable when Santi is fit. But with Theo out I think AW will rejig the midfield to accommodate Jack, Ozil and Santi with Gnarby being omitted. That in itself causes a problem with players playing out of position. In one of the interviews with Ramsey after Saturday he was talking about his form, he threw in the line "I am a central midfielder" Last season his form was poor but he was asked to do the impossible on occasions. Great players should be able to adapt, but they are obviously better in their best positions and that is better for the team.

Great set of results following a VERY poor start to the season. Not bad for a team consisting of arrogant, cowardly and championship quality players... :)

You do know we have 3 fewer points from the 6 games than we had in the equivalent 6 games last season, don't you?

I know but that's random fixtures throughout a season. We've won these games consecutively whlist missing 2 or 3 first team players. As well as having to qualify for the Champions League and winning our first group game and Carling Cup game.

During the equivalent period last season we had 9 points.

In contrast to a couple of previous posters, although he is obviously still not 100% fit I think Jack has played a lot better and seemed to be getting stronger in the second halves of both the Stoke and Swansea matches. :rubchin: :rubchin:

Good point, hope we can make up the short fall in games like Norwich (a), Southampton (a), Swansea (h), Fulham (h),Stoke (a) and Sunderland (h)

All games where we didn't show up and dropped sillly points.

Great win on Saturday, loads of positives, Scezney commanding, defence looking organised, Ramsey's fine form continuing and threatening to make me eat my words, Gnabry looks a very good prospect strong and composed on the ball and for once we took advantage of slip ups by other teams, something we have failed to do in a long time.

Negatives, Wilshire a liability and a red card waiting to happen, Giroud still not convincing me and missed another sitter, I don't dispute his attitude but ability wise there isn't mush between him and Bendtner.
