The Mesut Özil Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yep that's right. Still he already has the most "true" assists (3) in the league although he only played 2 games :barscarf:

His goal was sublime but the more I watch the second goal, his pass to Giroud was just out of this world. He has to put it through the 2 defenders in front of him whilst trying to pick a spot that the 3rd sliding defender can't reach but that Giroud can. Top drawer.
But his all round play is just a joy to watch, he caresses each pass and as long as Wenger doesn't stick him out on the left wing this winter or sell him next Summer, he will become one of Arsenal's greats of that there is no doubt.

Im amazed how fast he seems to have adapted to English football- usually takes months or years to settle in, some never do. :|

It can be different with each player. Henry and Pires took a good while to settle but you could see they were world class and it would come to them. Even the great man himself The Dennis took a few games to hit the magical form we all (except the Judas Flash Gunner :x  ) came to know and love.

But Ozil just seems to have hit the ground running, massive erection in hand, beeyatch poon in his sights. :D

There was one moment during the second half which I think will stay with me for ever.

As Ozil walked up to take a set-piece in the North Bank/East Stand corner where I was sitting, literally everyone got on their feet and gave him a standing ovation for about a minute, to which he waved back. 8) That moment gave me goosebumps, which was brilliant to see as most players just ignore things like that.

God know what will happen when you:

1. Get married
2. Hear your child's first words.
3. Win the lottery.

I'm betting on an explosion of some kind  :barscarf:

his goal last night was bergkampesque, how many players could have executed that shot,to see Reina outstretched with the ball flying just inches from his grasp was magical,im sure that Reina thought that it was going to be a great shot for the cameras as he tips it around the post!!!thats what £42.5 million gets you, worth every penny, with fingers crossed plenty more to come :barscarf:

Özil is unbelievable, I have a huge smile every time I see him play. While not always a guarantee, it's true you get what you pay for.

And 42.5m for him in this inflated market is great business. He's worth 60+ surely.
