Flamini

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Move aside Tony Adams and step forward the real Mr Arsenal

Is there room for a Flamini statue outside the ground?

Well if your criticism of him has the same effect as it did with the artist formerly known as 'Le Chapman', then I think we are all winners.......

Poor SteveO :(

Vermaelen gets dropped in favour of Kos. (Mr. "Ligue Deux" ) :(
Flamini (the "Marseille Mercenery"), comes back, plays well and gives Arteta some genuine competition. :(
Giroud (aka "Le Chapman"), genuinely improving and looking like a decent signing. :(
Diaby ("the Imperious Abou") still a crock of shit.

Poor SteveO

Any more catchy names for Arsenal players........ 8)

there is no doubt that Flamini has slotted back in with no problem and does what he did so well before. Straightforward box to box and protection for back four.

Also brings much needed leadership on the pitch.

I would lay good money that his name (alongside our number 11) is the first name Wenger puts on the team sheet.

This is what we have missed for the past 5 years or so. Exactly what we need.
Watch how we miss him when he inevitably gets suspended on the yellow card tot up.

Wenger/the club messed up big time by overlooking him as his contract wound down. He didn't feel wanted despite a fantastic last season. I for one did not blame him and was furious that the club let him pass them by.

The media are now saying what a great bit of business by Wenger. The fact is he should not have let him go in the first place.

Pure passion.

Appreciate.

Ahh thanks for stepping forward and slotting yourself into the category I was referring to in the Wenger thread

Ripped your banner up now we've won 5 league games have you?

Of course you always said the new Tony Adams was a genius after he lost us the League Cup final.....and I remember you craving the return of the Marseille Mercenary back in May......there you were praising Le Chapman with his 1 away goal last season.

Yep I remember all that - well done you, you were right all along

There's a new name for you by the way.....The Gooner's Piers Morgan......we've won some games....THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER....we've lost some games.....LETS ALL MAKE A BANNER

I find this post hilarious.

And almost written with a complete disregard to how the last 5 years or so have gone.

Flamini is at Arsenal now, because no one else wanted him.

Had he signed on 6 years ago, he'd have left after about 2 or 3. Same as Adebayor, Fabregas, Hleb, Van Persie, Nasri.

Because we were going nowhere then. We are still going nowhere now. £42m worth of Ozil won't change that over a full 9 months.

Had Arsenal done the necessary 4/5 years ago, spending the Ozil money on two £20m players, keeping Van Persie & Fabregas, well Flamini would be an after thought along the lines of "shit, I should have covered up with a rubber, this bitch ain't so hot in the morning".

I think you just nicked Armchair's views. He knew Vermaelen had some positional issues when he first watched him in the Under 6's

Yep, like how he used to mark the post at the other end of the pitch for corners.

What was it, 48 goals conceeded?

Well he's faking amnesia now about his Wenger views but I'm sure he'll tell you about how he first witnessed Giroud's potential as a fetus, how Koscielny was king of the kindergarten and how he knew Vermaelen would never make it when he was made to sit in the corner for getting his spellings wrong
