WAS WENGER RIGHT TO PLAY AN UNDERSTRENGTH TEAM TODAY?

Post by I Hate Hleb »

WELL, I'VE ALREADY HAD A BIT OF A RANT ELSEWHERE, BUT WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE THINK? SHOULD WENGER HAVE STARTED WITH HIS BEST AVAILABLE 11, OR IS HE CORRECT IN (SEEMINGLY) SAVING PLAYERS FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SECOND LEG?

Wenger is always right. I wish Arsenal fans would realise this and stop doubting him. Without him we would be Spurs.

I'll vote for "yes", giving him a benefit of the doubt. If we pull it off in Anfield then no-one will be complaining, as our title's surge finished long before today's match.

i think the players that came in did well, hoyte and traore looked a bit suspect at times but still played well
we was better without ade and hleb imo, im sure bringing on ade will have a nice knock on NBs confidence now and he will be playing shit again midweek

edit: oh and no to the question, we still had a chance before today, no chance in hell now, nice one

Why did we keep on getting fed the line that we were still in it then?? that's just insulting.

We left out Hleb, Clichy and Adebayor - but played Flamini, Fabregas and Toure!! what's the point/ don't Those latter 3 deserve a rest? Are the former 3 more important and have to run more on Tuesday?

Wenger got it wrong today. We don't have the squad and we can't do this half and half thing. Either full strength or reserves.

Looks like we've fucked up 2nd place as well and that will put Wenger's own pre-season plans out again.

so, why always hleb and adebayor? Are they the only ones who get tired? Does it mean they will do more running in tuesday?

doesn't make sense.....

well adebayor already had a slight injury and coz hes been an important player to us this season, maybe he didnt wanna risk losing him for the CL? i dunno thats what i think. dont think he would rest anyone if he didnt feel the need to

so why always the same players? Is Toure not due a rest?

My thinking is that we are a team low on character - By that I mean some players are keen to take a rest where others do not show it - And just because Toure doesn't show it doesn't mean he is not in need of a rest.

Some of the players in our squad who think they need a rest and think they are injured need to take a look at Toure and learn.

He obviously cocked it up, we lost 2 points at home :x :x

He will probably rest Toure , Flamini and Fabregas against Mancs.

I'm certain Eboue will start against Liverpool and the Mancs, though.
