) let me quantify my remarks re selling cazorla - for me it is impossible to play both in the same team unless you shaft one out to the wings and I dont see how that can work. For starters we would be bringing an extra body into the middle which can only cut down the space for our main creator (ozil for me) to work his magic but as well as that, it will almost totally remove our width making it easier for teams to nullify us and will leave our full backs exposed when the opposition attacks. Personally I think that rotating ozil and cazorla would be a disaster as both players need to get into a flow to be at their best and I cannot see either being content with warming the bench (no matter how much money they are earning flamoney

).
I have never ever doubted cazorla's class and I remain a big fan but am totally opposed to putting square pegs in round holes (playing players out of position). As well as that, I do not see the point in having 2 world class players for one position whilst having ordinary/average players in other positions (strengthen the team before you strengthen the squad). I can understand some disagreeing with me
but am surprised that all seem to think that there are no merits to my suggestion
Augie, you say Cazorla is now expendable and you're suggesting we sell Cazorla in January so
NO I don't see merit in that suggestion because I couldn't disagree more (sorry

). If you were talking about selling him in the long term, once we have better options out wide and he's struggling to get a game, then it would have more merit but
this January?

not for me.
1. For you to say he's expendable
now suggests you don't think he's our best option on the left. Presumably you prefer the injury prone Rosicky there? or perhaps Podolski? or Ox? or maybe Jack can do a job on the left? or Monreal?
For me, Cazorla - although better in CM - remains our best option on the left and it would be crazy to let him go at this point.
2. Although there's rarely direct comparisons in football, I'm not sure playing Cazorla on the left is that dissimilar to playing Pires and Ljungberg out wide either. After all, our system is fluid enough to allow them freedom to move.
I know what you mean about square pegs and round holes, but it's not like we have Eden Hazard or Robben waiting in the wings. We have Rosicky, Monreal, Ox, Wilshere and Podolski.
Personally, I wouldn't relieve Cazorla of his duties until we have better options and, for me, we currently don't.
3. Your call for a striker is fine, but not convinced we need to sell Cazorla to make it happen. We have the money anyway and if we really need to sell first, then there's others I'd rather sell before losing one of our diamonds.
