Nicely done, but it was against Australia and we make the England team look like Brazil! :barscarf:
you won in 2-1 in germany a couple of years ago with the majority of the defence that giroud scored 2 against on friday

No idea why jekinson isn't considered to replace walker who's injured. Personally I rate him ahead of walker anyway but I definitely rate him ahead of smalling or jones who only get picked because slur alex once paid a lot of money for them.

I think he can definitely count himself unlucky not to be in the first team squad. Personally I wouldn't pick him, I think it will do him good to get a few under 21 games under his belt, hope to keep getting games for Arsenal and then, if his performances warrant it, he can get drafted into the squad for the pre world cup friendlies and hope to do enough to be on the plane. The only reason I'd do that is because I'm not a fan of people being thrown straight into the seniors before they're really established at club level (Jenkinson is getting there for Arsenal but he hasn't stood out enough for me over the course of the last season to warrant an immediate first team squad place).

However, since the current set up seems only to happy to throw people in and give them caps when, in many cases, they're less established than Jenkinson, I think he can be a bit miffed at missing out when, like you say, there's really not a stand out right back in the squad at present - Walker is poor, Jones is a liability at right back in my opinion and Smalling isn't much better. I wish Micah Richards would either start getting a game for Man City or make a move, much better player than the likes of Walker.

I rate him highly as well but Townsend is not the most defensively minded winger so Jenko would be left on his own against the Dortmund player whose name I can't pronounce would be running into the spaces between players and behind the FB.

Be grateful Jenkinson hasn't been called up, with Sagna out for at least 3 weeks, He is our only RB we have left, knowing our luck he would get injured and everyone would be cursing because we wouldn't have a RB

also to be honest, he doesn't deserve a call up, has played one PL game this season and hasn't done anything to warrant a call up. I'd go with Phil Jones over Smalling any day.

Jenkinson made huge strides last year but he's still played little top-level football and can't at the moment get a game for us (although obviously that will change whilst Sagna's injured). Shouldn't really be expecting a call-up imo.

I don't rate Phil Jones at all and at £16m I think that was a pretty dreadful deal. Ferguson stopped playing him at CB because he's a calamity (instead favouring Jonny Evans and carthorse Rio), he's not good enough at CM and he's second or third choice RB (and it's hardly like he's being kept out by a class player in that position). In fact the only reason why he hasn't been panned was because of how ridiculously he was talked up by sections of the media after being signed - I remember Phil McNulty writing an article comparing him to Duncan Edwards and how he was the future for England in Nov 2011. Hardly come on leaps and bounds since then.

As for Smalling he was another one who was wildly talked up as a future England star but with injuries and form he's not played much at all in the last season and a half. I thought he looked a pretty good, composed player.

Yes but you can't dismiss the sheer quality of his goal...shades of Dennis at his lobbing best. :barscarf:
Oh yeah I know, great goal! 8)
Pretty much all of Girouds goals are good goals. Ozil said Giroud is a great striker to play behind. Initially I preferred Pod but I think Giroud is just getting better n better.

If he can keep up his scoring record to get us a couple of wins against the top six, he may well the golden boot this year.

What have those 2 done to deserve a call up? At least jenkinson has had a period of good form as a right back last season while sagna was injured. Many people on here agreed he was unlucky to get dropped.

The other two are overrated shite that aren't even fullbacks

Gnabs seems to be doing well for the German youth teams. Such an exciting talent; up there with that overhyped Albanian/Belgian/Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian/Kosovan/Turkish fella.
