Sounds like it shouldn't have stood-tho not actually seen it yet! Chelsea now gone 2-1 up as well
It is a shit rule - how can a keeper release the ball (bounce it) and it not be out of his possession ?
If it hit a divot, whilst bouncing it and rolled away it would be "in play"

Love what's happening at Manure. Fans calling for Moyes out on BBC Website. And not given a late penalty. The refs are fighting back up there for all those years of Fergie bullying.

my favourite tweet of the day :
come on you Hammers (for today...)
Jason Eden: If Southampton are to compete for a Champions League place then they really need to be beating these mid table sides.

Just out of interest, if it's a shit rule (which I don't think it is) what would you like the rule to be??StuartL wrote:wibble wrote:FIFA rule book

And yes, if it bounced away then it would be out of the keepers control and therefore back in play.

Why is a keeper allowed to let the ball leave his hands and pick it back up and still be deemed to have it in his hands the whole time ?g88ner wrote:Just out of interest, if it's a shit rule (which I don't think it is) what would you like the rule to be??StuartL wrote:wibble wrote:FIFA rule book

There is no need for them to bounce the ball it is just a "thing" that they like to do.

Good point. No need at all really.StuartL wrote: Why is a keeper allowed to let the ball leave his hands and pick it back up and still be deemed to have it in his hands the whole time ?

The reason I asked was more about the keeper kicking the ball out of his hands rather than bouncing it, because when kicking, there will always be a split second where the ball is not in contact with his hand or foot... and that is the reason the rule is there. If it wasn't, the forward could challenge the keeper every time he kicked it, and that could become farcical.

Southampton's goal is not much different to Spammers 1st goal against the scum last week. Lallana is quite clearly stopping De Gea from coming for the ball. it's obstruction yet the goal stands.
Aguero's 2nd goal is a shocking goal to concede. He's about 5'6" yet scores a headed goal from a set piece standing completely unmarked in the penalty area.

How the hell has Gareth Barry not been red carded for that challenge on Danny Graham, at the very least that was a yellow and then with that 2nd challenge even that could have been a red
Hull's defending's a bit sh*te

Just seen Leverkusen's non-existent goal against Hoffenheim, Christ I'm not surprised they want a replay.
Check it out if you haven't seen it already http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02U9VvDfNqc
I don't blame the Ref though because in real time it does look like it's a goal.

Man Utd's past and future manager were at their game yesterday , both sitting on the same seat.

As much as the fans may start to call for it, it can't happen as it will wreck Moyes top flight management career for a ponBradywasking wrote:Man Utd's past and future manager were at their game yesterday , both sitting on the same seat.

The result was take but watching it and our game in the 12pins, in the first half a 3nil scoreline to United wouldn't have been a shock. They just need to ride out the storm. The only guaranteed positions in the league this season are 1/2, Shitty and Chavs in whatever order. The other spots 3 to 6 are all up for grabs.

Anybody else remember the Henry goal that was disallowed at Blackburn in 2004? Friedel released the ball for a dropkick, Henry stole it and scored, and it was disallowed for a foul. Still puzzles me to this day, especially given yesterday's non-ruling.
