As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I'm in my first year as a season ticket holder and have just sold my ticket for the Liverpool game as sadly I can't make it now!
How do they justify giving me 53 quid for my 62 quid seat? Is that an 9 quid transaction fee or a penalty for not going?
Whoever has bought my seat for 62 quid has also paid a booking fee!
The whole booking/transaction charges are a joke as surely it's all automated and costs a minimal amount? It's basically just another way to rip off fans for a few quid!
It's sad because it's a great system in theory and is brilliant for the buyer but as I have now found out for the seller not so much!

I'm not an ST holder so can't speak for certain, but i'm pretty sure they don't just pay £53 into your account. AFC give you cold, hard money? Not a chance! It comes off next season's renewal price I think.
It's really a shame because the systems in place have the potential to be useful but as is so often the case, the club put these restrictions in place to use them as another revenue generator for themselves. Have been discussing that new Ticket Transfer thing with a few people on Twitter this week. Fucking hell, talk about AFC making you jump through hoops, how confusing (and again, costly) is that system?!

Was it in Block 12 mate? if so i was after it but couldn't sort out travel you would prob be better putting it up on here in future,at least you would get face value for it and those vultures wouldn't get the admin fees.
I thought the idea was they've changed it now, so you can either opt to have it taken off next season's renewal price OR have the proceeds paid into your bank account. You'd think after taking a handy 10% fee for the privilege of Ticket Ex., they would at least allow you to have the remaining 90% of your own money back.
Would seem the obvious thing to do, but maybe it's too much like common sense for the powers that be.
Actually, I think it's a good idea that they don't refund the full amount. If they did, people would buy season tickets willy nilly, and in theory, could sell all but the Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea tickets via the exchange with no loss incurred. They could keep these STs for years, whilst more committed fans on the ST waiting list are frozen out.
I think giving back 90% is fair, and is a way of ensuring that people don't hog season tickets for years without any intention of using them to their full capacity.
Although I do appreciate that the OP isn't doing that, but 90% is still a decent sum IMO. Back when I had a ST in the 90s, you didn't get the chance to even make a penny back if you couldn't make it.
Maybe they could implement a maximum of five ticket exchange sales per season at full value instead.
Some good points there guys, I hasn't thought of it in that respect. The whole booking fee thing annoys me, same as em you buy gig/festival tickets etc! Money for nothing!
Isn't the cost of a ST lower than the sum of tickets for each individual match offered? Maybe they think ST holders wouldn't mind too much not getting the FV price.
I also have an issue with the booking fees, but eticketing impose those for concert tickets too.(and put a shipping fee on top since they're paper tickets) It's not like somebody is sitting there assigning the tickets.
The club have been working hard to develop the transfer and ticket exchange facility, do people think it costs nothing to develop and maintain ?
The mechanism to transfer to friends i think will cost £1 and when selling all will soon be able to take the option of receiving the money in their bank rather than having a next season credit.
This will save the 2 way stress of posting cards back and forward or meeting people when selling tickets and the ability to transfer and do a private sale appears feasible.
Go look at the mess that other clubs systems are like before permanent whinging at positive moves the club are doing to in crease options to help fans in different ways
