First live game for me this season. My daughter and grandson are sharing a pair CPFC season tickets (yeah I'm working on him).
Thought the luck went our way overall and perhaps 2-0 flattered us a bit.
Looked defo penalty and that was a big blow for Palace having defended well and in numbers in the first half. Usual problem of lots of possession and couldn't break down a compact defence. Palace had the clear chances first half.
Never a red for Arteta. We had a great angle on it from behind to see how they just shouldered heavily into each other, mainly Chamakh giving it some and both of them falling to the ground.
Giroud ran his socks off and looked knackered well before the end - looks like he could do with a rest.
Enjoyed the game, especially the outcome. Felt a little bit sorry for the Palace fans who really get behind their team.
Good noise from our fans.
Was Arteta's Red card a straight red or two yellows? Either way, a squad without Arteta OR Flamini against Liverpool doesn't fill me with great hope, unless we constantly attack them for 90 mins . But that will not happen.

Straight red. Arteta will just be suspended for Tuesday's game I believe?

Oh, I thought he was banned only from the PL, as the red card was given in a PL game? Also, I thought straight red cards resulted in three match bans?
I dunno, perhaps I've just made that up.
Straight red for dangerous play is 3 games but his is 1 and will be the midweek game.
I promised myself that getting stressed over The Arsenal was in the past but clearly old habits die hard.
Hats off to Ramsey for another great show of running with the ball late in the game, great engine.
Giroud was doing my nut in the 2nd half, going to ground far too easily and in the 1st half thinking he needed to do a flick like last week's goal everytime the ball came to him.
November will tell us a lot and if we're still going strong after that.....
First away game of the season and as glad as I am that we won, we were dire in attacking play today.
Palace's game plan was pretty obvious defend with 10 and then knock it forward quickly for Shamakh(there's reason his name rhymes with fookin cack).
So what do we do, we go back to our tippy-tappy worst.
It was ridiculous. As much as Palace worked really hard we played right into their hands, narrow as anything and paceless and no desire to shoot when in good positions.
The penalty was right in front of me and blimey how gormless was Guediora.Talk about a gift. From where I was Arteta's sending off looked harsh, hope Flamini's injury was a precautionary thing because we need him next week to kick lumps out of that rat faced cheat and Sturridge.
Good header from Giroud , though how he didn't score with the one earlier, only he knows.
Glad we won but the next month is going to be serious clenched buttocks time for us. Special mention for Ches, haven't seen his saves on the telly yet but they looked excellent in real time.
Arteta should only miss the C1 cup game against the chavs.
Fecking angry or shitting myself for the best part of a match verses one of the poorest teams ever to play in the Premier. Surely there needs to be some tinkering with our style of play when it takes 37 minutes to have an attempt on target against the worst team in the division?

Technically, they are the second worst team...but I know what you mean
Wenger on whether he will appeal Arteta's red card…
I think we have good grounds to appeal. If he's only suspended for one game I won't do it because he's suspended for Tuesday night and anyway I would not have played him but it was more today's game that was at stake. It was the wrong decision because it has to be good goalscoring opportunity, he was far from goal, it was an accidental foul, he was not the last man. I think the referee got that one wrong and after that we dealt well with the situation. We were mature, organised, didn't become nervous and we got the second goal. Szczesny made two very good saves at an important moment of the game.

It wasn't the best position to be in against such a poor team, was it? I thought the performance was a bit of a lazy shambles and it was just as well Giroud popped up with that late goal because he was awful for most of the game - heavy first touches, weak shooting and getting pushed off the ball easily.
Thought it was more like one of last season's early performances - all pass pass pass and done without pace. 85% possession after 15 minutes maybe, but Palace actually had more attempts on goal up to a point
Just think we've looked flat in the last 2 games - but a win is a win and we're still top of the league
What us idiots who haven't worked a single day in football seem to be seeing though is the start of Giroud showing that he can not possibly play every match - but those that have worked in football for 30 years chose not to address that in the window so I'm sure we're even safe hands when Bendtner and Sanogo chip in with 10 goals a piece
