Chavs (H) in the thingy cup

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My brain hurts. So we shouldn't try to win the League cup cos it's useless but we should concentrate on competitions we can't win?

In a minute you'll hear how its vitally important to qualify to ensure we keep a rich man even richer and to keep all our best players like Fabregas, van Persie and Nasri

I thought we got rid of Gervinho :rubchin:

The ??? you put in defence should be the BFG. Why are we playing with 10 men from the start. I would have 4-2-3-1, the 2 being Dench and Rosicky and Santi for Miyaichi. Cazorla's not played much football so a 70min run out shouldn't hurt, then replace him with younger legs like Eisfeld or Miyaichi.

Sadly regardless we'll lose this because the chavs team will have Willian,Eto'o,Ba,Mata etc...all reserve players :(

Me too, and about another 30,000 people trudged away in complete silence too, so I at least have some faith that not everyone is swallowed up in the glory of the 4th placed trophy

I was there too and, for once, Steve O (and even Chippy ;) ) is/are talking sense imo.

I like Eisfeld. one of the few carling cup players I rate, shame we have such an overly talented midfield because he's unlikely to develop at all here :(

You wouldn't have agreed with the words I was using to describe your Lord and Master that day

I'm sure she'd have even worked out that Zigic would have bounced the New Tony Adams like the featherweight he is

Game was always gonna sell out with the seats being much cheaper. Chavs will bring 6-9000 so it will be an old fashioned london derby atmosphere. I am quite looking forward to it, should be much more noisy at the emirates than usual.

Shit competition, hope Wenger fields a reserve side and if we get tanked so be it, what would be worse is to field a strong side, lose narrowly and pick up an injury to a key player.
The mousers game has to be his one and only priority.

I really fear for the CB who's gonna partner TV5 .... hopefully he'll finish the game just OK.
It really is incredible not to have a back up for games like these. Last year we used Ignasi Miquel , but he's on loan right now... same goes for Djourou

Anyway, as already said , the Chavs reserves definitely have an advantage for this one.. we currently have too many injured players (AS USUAL) and with important games coming up we can't afford to take any chances.
I say: park the bus in front of goal , take the game to Pens and let Flappy do his magic !!!! LOL   :barscarf: :barscarf:

PS. I read that the BSM is planning something for this fixture... can anyone tell me what's it all about ?
I won't be able to attend the game... thx

Loving your avatar G-G, remember that equalizer so well, we all went mental in my blk in the stadium. Webb should have booked drug cheat Ferdinand, but he was probably to busy trying to figure out when he could award United a dodgy penalty before the full time whistle. That season we started so well, so much belief and no defensive fragility, then Gallas, Martin Taylor and Mike Dean ruined it all.
