Chavs (H) in the thingy cup

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I wouldn't say that naive. We have the squad we have, so there's no point him ruling out the chance of victory before kick off, surely?

well there are many alternatives to compress the play, break up their midfield or defend deep and hit on the break - he could play three centre backs like GG did at Anfield in 89 in a 3-2-4-1, a 3-5-2 or a 4-5-1 there's no reason Jenkinson or one of the other second string - even Gnabry couldn't play the disrupter role - "go out, harrass, tackle, win the ball, get it forward"....

he's relying on the creativity of Caz and Rosicky to create goals for Bentdner and Ryo, if they don't get the ball from the back or midfield we got nothing imho.

like against Dortmund, the set up is amateurish.

And to think people were suggesting he could take over from Sagna. He's been abysmal both defensively and going forward in this first half so far

Add Ryo to your list - he's been as effective as he was at West Brom

I cannot understand the point in playing a pretty strong midfield if we then fill up the numbers with Bendtner, Flappy & Jenks.

We should kick our corners out for an opposition throw. With key stone cops defending they're proving far more trouble than they're worth.
