Sitting in the wrond end

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Have set in the home end twice at everton, got a few looks the first time so kept quiet the second. Everton fans seem to be nice enough though so there was never any real bother with them

Oh and Luton, when we were all banned but approx half the ground were Gooners and Tone got a standing ovation for getting sent off !!
Have also sat in with Away fans at Highbury (Ipswich) whilst wearing a red nike cap, to watch a Carling cup match a few years back - I think Ipswich won from memory :( but I as I now live in Suffolk I was with a few mates so had to sit and take it.
Remeber Luton well, and yes at half were gooners. The most bizarre one I had was Plymouth away in a pre season friendly. We went down with a Plymouth supproter we worked with and stayed at his mum & dads in Newquay for the weekend. Before the game he was at great pains to tell us that as we were seated in the home stand we had to keep quiet as the locals could be quite lairy. Arsenal scored after about 10 minutes and the whole stand went up. I think he was the only Plymouth supporter there. Think we went on to win 5 or 6 nil!

I did it at Palace a few years back when we were Champions,(Remember them days!)I sat there with my old man and brother while Palace kicked fuck out of Lord Dennis of Bergkamp all game,And when Dennis reacted and got booked I couldn't contain myself any longer and started get the hump,My old man was a bit worried we weren't going to get out alive.Palace cheered their team off like they had won the fucking Champions League when they had managed a 0-0 draw.

They forgot their Prozac that day, some forget it for weeks at a time

Have sat at away matches quite a few times in the past, used to when away fans were in the terraces and my Dad couldnt stand for that long

Have done it recently at matches like Villa, where home tickets are even these days easier to get, it is so annoying to see matches like WBA with loads of empty home seats and away team allocation sold out so fast. There you have to be a member, no general sale tickets at all :banghead:

Worst bit is when the opposition score, all are up yelling and me and my dad sat there feeling sick. worst of all was against Derby many many years ago, when Bob McNab and Alan Ball (I think) were both sent off, think we were the only fans sitting down in the Baseball ground,

For a while when I was young and after we'd moved out of London, I followed the mighty Gillingham.

One year we were competing for an automatic promotion spot (having lost to Citeh in the play-off final the previous year, having been leading 2-0, but having to endure about 20 mins of added time). A win in the last game, away at Wrexham would seal promotion.
Everybody wanted to go and I couldn't get a ticket. My brother got hold of some in the Wrexham end. We were a bit nervous being away fans, English and a long way from home. However, we needn't have worried. Wrexham had their usual 3000+ and between 5000 and 5500 Gills fans turned up. At least half the home end was Gills.
We lost 1-0 (but won the play-off final).

Anyone else been at an away game (that counted) and outnumbered the home fans?

A mate and myself sat in the Man utd end when they beat us 6-1. Was ok for a short time, until they started singing their version of the Viera song (gave giggsy the ball) so I started singing our version. As soon as the stewards knew we were Arsenal, we were thrown out. Not a bad game to get thrown out of :(
