THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I guess like Scientists you look at evidence of trials over years under different conditions and come to conclusions.

Others prefer to go door-to-door and profess the second coming.

That's fine. And guys...you're still welcome to use the benefits of the scientific research that may one day save your life - if Christ is not about.

So do I and so does everyone on here. Despite how it may seem nobody actually wants Arsenal to fail, even with Wenger at the helm - it's just loads of people resent the minor successes in the short-term (like the good run we've been on so far) because it facilitates the long-term failure.

Seems like in your eyes he has carte blanche to perform as he likes by virtue of success he achieved before we moved. Can't say it's much of a revelation but out of interest when would his immunity run out (if ever)?

Last 7 seasons we've barely got near a trophy - one serious title challenge that petered out in March, one CL semi final where we were embarrassed by United who were then caned in the final, one FA Cup semi where our inevitable shortcomings cost us against Chelsea and one League Cup final where we cantered past second-rate outfits to the final and then bottled it against a team who got relegated. Seems like long-term failure to me.

.....and keeps us hoping and hoping for something we are not going to achieve under his managership....we ALL want to win, to know success again - we do, he does...But considering he was such an innovator of new ideas and practises when he arrived that not only changed the way Arsenal (and its players) played...but his ideas have played a significant part in how football is now played...training techniques etc etc But he now seems to be stuck in some weird time warp and stubbornly refuses to 'move with the times'....and sadly we have been left behind these past 7 - 8 seasons.

Unless he can wake up and admit - even if only to himself - that his Yoof Project has not done what he (and us) hoped it would, and unless he can continue to sign Top, Top  quality players we are doomed.

This season rednose stepped down, smugcunt has returned to the chavs yes, but he has lost his midas touch to a certain extent and man$hitty are not the team they were two seasons ago....so THIS SEASON is a golden opportunity to win the prem (because next season manure,$hitty and the chavs Will spend BIG!) but he seems to have splashed the cash on Ozil....and seems content with that....IF he does not invest in the Top, Top Striker we all know we need - it will all have been in vain...and we can stop dreaming once more.

At least until he fucks off, because he seems incapable of change.

Well, the truth is, when we win things over the next few years, he will be proving the majority correct (arsenal fanwise) and the minority wrong. Those of us for him remain solidly in the majority. FACT (as they say hereabout)

LOL, of course it is! certainly as much as pessimism and miserablegitness ;)

As I've said many times, it's not blind faith to me, it's a natural progression and, over the next 9 years we will win things and it will be, in a major part, down to Arsene and what he has done for us. :blah: :blah: as folk will say.

Anyway, back to today, off for a couple pregame, then a holding bladder painfully scenario til half time... UTA

We will probably be here in a few years after more heartache and suffering, mainly due to winning fuck all, and you will still be for him. I know exactly what kind of ''supporter'' you are, Arsene before Arsenal.

Just because you are in a majority doesn't make it right. FACT.
