get close to the players

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

get close to the players

Post by gbechar »

Hi,

Me and my first born son will be at london at the end of november and additional to 2 games that we will see, I want to take him as close as possible to the players.

It could be befor/after match or training, what is the best way?

thanks in advanced

If it's home games then it is pretty much impossible. I guess you could try to get seats as close as possible to the dug outs but sadly your best bet is to hang around outside the entrance to the underground carpark and hope to get glimpses of them as they drive past in their Bentley's. Arsene Wenger incidentally has a very nice Lexus.

Try getting in touch with the club and mention about your son and they might sort something out for you, I guess.

Almost impossible sadly. All part of modern day Arsenal, keep the pampered superstars away from the great unwashed etc.

As has been said, your best bet is to hang around outside the car park after the game or at the lights by the Tollington. You may get a glimpse if you're lucky...

Get into the ground 30 minutes before kick off, and head right down to row 1 and you can watch the players warming up ; not great but a bit closer than if your seats are in the upper tier. North Bank End, and then whichever side they put the 'warm up goal' on so at least junior can see the keepers up close (ish)

The best way to get close to the players, would be to go to London colney when they're training.

Alternatively you could get hold of a white Boiler Suit and have the words "Treatment Bench Repair Technician" stencilled on the back...and carry a black hardback briefcase with same on it...then get in the treatment palace where Diaby whiles away his hours counting all his hard earned (NOT!) dosh...you just might bump into: Feo, The Ox, Flamster, Pods and Jack...

No.

Hanging around there might get you arrested for stalking, not an opportunity to meet the players.

:rubchin: Blunt!? Not really, I would suggest Incisive and to the point Oh! Yes that's our quartz!....but also with that 'witty air' that sets him apart... funny as fuck as well :D

As for Hlebby!? He might advocate parachuting onto the pitch in the middle of a game at the bowl loaded on mescalin.

ps;If you wanted to get close to these ex-players....???

One just wave a burger & chips anywhere within driving distance.....and the other.....a 100% wage increase and a picture of any one of his many favourite boyhood clubs...

Every time I see that hooped top anywhere now it makes me want to vomit.
