Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
We more often than not struggle against teams playing a high pressing game and Dortmund are best in the world in that type of football. Can't see any other result than a comfortable home win.

Agree totally with this, Dortmund are quality all over the pitch and have a strong bench to freshen things up with.King Henry wrote:A draw would be a great result, any team in the world would struggle at Dortmund. Would've been the ideal match to play both Arteta and Flamini but all of our midfield is going to have to be very disciplined.

1-0 to The Arsenal
Will be a tough game, especially with Manure coming up, its the sort of game that we could have done with Wally
Remember Bayern last year, hoping its the same sort of result this year.

Although not strictly on point, could Tomas give us the view from Germany on Lewandowski? For a long time it was accepted that he would be going to Bayern. Then there was a story that nothing was agreed. Is his signature up for grabs?

Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
He posted 2 or 3 months ago that it was almost universally accepted as a done deal (although can't agree until Jan if rules are same as here which they probably are). Also surprised at the lack of bitterness towards a player who decided more than a year left on his deal to piss off on a free to their rivals who just nicked another star player off them and can conceivably stop them from winning everything.GranadaJoe wrote:Although not strictly on point, could Tomas give us the view from Germany on Lewandowski? I saw all of that but he then made a point of stating that nothing was finalised. I understand that he couldn't have signed a contract, but why say that. There were some commentators at the time who said that Guardiola wasn't that keen on him, but it's all gone quiet since.

Also agree.
My main worry though is we pick up an injury to Giroud or Arteta or Ramsey before the trip to Old Shatford. We cannot/will not win the CL so I'm worried about risking players for it when we have such an important game on Sunday.

Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
I barely take a passing interest in foreign leagues tbh but Lewandowski seems to have made up his mind that he wants to go there, is Guardiola really going to turn down the chance to sign him on a free? It'd almost be worth it just for the damage it would do to Dortmund never mind strengthening his own squad.GranadaJoe wrote:I saw all of that but he then made a point of stating that nothing was finalised. So where is everyone drinking in Dortmund Wednesday? Any recommended boozers from people who have been before?

Steve O, I get your hunger for a trophy and we all agree with it but surely the prospect of Thursday night, Sunday, Thursday night football would be enough of a reason not to play in that farcical European cast off's cup ?
Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
Worth it if we win it! - we've not won anything for 8yrs, so I don't think we're in a position to look down our noses at the UEFA Cup!augie wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:You'll be in a small minority with me and a handful of others mate.
