United Game away

Post by clockender1 »

looks like Wallys going to be back.

i reckon he'll start as sub, but its an interesting thought - when fully fit, who makes way ? - has to be Rosicky, which is a shame as he's just got his game going.

I don't see us playing caz-the rocket-rosicky-Walcott do you ?

or do people think he'll sub for Giroud ?

:rubchin:

edit: united have been shite so far tonight by all accounts - Moyes rested RVP which means he's worrried about us on Saturday. good.

When fit I think you're right and Rosicky makes way. Not 100% sure about the balance of a midfield with Cazorla, Ozil and Rosicky every week and in any case he'll provide an excellent option off the bench and it would give us the option of resting one of the other two.

I mean we could do something crazy like change the line-up and tactics based on opposition but might as well try and confine this discussion to the real world for as long as we can!

Also although the Spurs game is always the one I care most about United away comes a very very very close second and I'd even be tempted to say now if there was one game we could win this season this would be it.

The way we've gone up there and been completely embarrassed the last few years hurt a lot, especially when I (like everyone) have about 20 mates who are United 'fans' and despite having no perspective or genuine passion never miss a chance for some smugness. Win and I think just about everyone would acknowledge that with the addition of a quality striker we're capable of being thereabouts in May - lose and it will be deja vu for us as suddenly United don't look in such dire straits with us, Liverpool, Citeh and Chelsea under their belt.

For their poor start and dire football under Moyes the one thing you can bet your bottom dollar on is that he won't be tactically naive and if we're going to get a result up there we're going to have really graft for it. We ain't going to go up there and be allowed to play them off the park in an expansive fashion all game, we're going to have to play in an uncomfortable fashion for most of the game and make the most of it when we get our chance to play.

spot on. its a big game for Moyes - he has to not lose. knifes will be really out for him if we win up there.

it will require patience and not getting caught on the break. i think we're much more likely to beat united away than city or the chavs right now. if we can keep them out for 25 30 minutes it'll make the OT tourists well edgy.

though of course, i wouldn't rule out us losing by a dodgy penalty like tonights - fun to see RVP miss it before Saturday.

and Fellaini get a red too. lol

Really impressed with Negredo every time I watch him - had a bit of a donkey tag but he's certainly shrugging that off!

On the other hand how brilliant is it to see Fellaini stumble about out of his depth? Moyes couldn't help but to splurge all his eggs into Fellaini's basket on deadline day  given how he'd missed out on just about every other midfielder in professional football

Best chance we've had in years to beat that lot, and after Liverpool, I fancy us to sneak it, 1-0 to the Arsenal suits me :barscarf:

If carrick was out of their team then I believe that you would see a different fellaini - at the mo the guy is asked to play a role that doesnt suit him but ask him to sit in the middle and be a ball winner then I think he would be a star for them.

The fact they have RVP and Rooney with Hernandez as back up while we have Giroud and the fat Samurai/Park as back up will be the deciding factor I'm afraid.

Saying that they look weaker than ever before, IF we click from the start we could nick a result, that's a big if.

I'd take a draw right now if it meant someone taking RVJC's cruciate right the fuck off his knee. 8)

Agree Totally with that mate...... having dispatched the victims with panache ... this really is our BIG test, if - IF - we beat manure - then everyone (including the pundits and all of us suspicious * Gooners) will have to sit up and take THE Arsenal seriously this season.....I know the mancscum are nowhere near as effective under gollum as they were under rednose, but many are still waiting for their season to kick into action.

* We Gooners have all seen this kind of a start to a season before where we end up flattering to deceive....and facing yet another Groundhog Day season...I am, I'm sure like many waiting for it all to go tits up...so maybe with a decent win this weekend against manure - we can feel more confident ??

JW is still out,,but The Flamster will be available...so maybe have the Flamster AND Arteta hold the midfield - with Arteta having a freer role to go forward...with Rambo, Santi & The Wizard creating mayhem...with Giroud up front.?

I know AW won't go for that but it sure would shore up those gaps that keep appearing in our mid-field !

Wish I was going! :banghead:

UP THE ARSE!!! :barscarf: :barscarf:

hmmm.... :rubchin:

Not so sure with Moyes there. I know when the rednosed alcoholic was there it was SOP for away teams to start the game 1-0 down from a dodgy penalty, but Moyes doesn't command referees the way cunty chops Ferguson did...
