Re: January transfer rumours thread
We definitely need to keep Giroud fit for the next six weeks and then dip into the market for some competition for him. I'm not sure, however, whether Wenger will as he is notoriously reticent to spend in Jan and may well decide to go with Wally or Poldi instead.

Wow, do you really think so Ivan ?
We needed to fucking buy one in the Summer and you had 3 months to do it......so how are you going to do it within a month at a time when nobody wants to sell their top players ?

Re: January transfer rumours thread
Is there any way QPR can recall Remy in January and sell him? I think he'd be a good back up option as he provides some pace and is decent at finishing and he wouldn't cost too much either.
Re: January transfer rumours thread
Dzeko is even further behind the first team now that Negredo has been scoring and Aguero isn't droppable
Need a striker capable of holding up the ball and bringing our midfielders into play and think he could do it for us

Re: January transfer rumours thread
I'd love us to buy a superstar striker, but I'd settle for a good loan. Cavani, Hernandez, Ba, Remy etc, any of them would be a distinct improvement on our current options.
Re: January transfer rumours thread
The only problem with a lot of these options is that our rivals won't loan to us and probably won't sell either, especially if we're still at or near the top in January.
So that rules out Hernandez, Ba, Dzeko. Think we may go abroad for our striking options-don't see it being a superstar but shouldn't be hard to at least get better back-up than we currently have-whether or not that will be enough is another question.
My knowledge of foreign game isn't great tbh-if as i'm assuming we don't go for world class like Cavani, what realistic options are there?

Really rate Dzeko - play him regularly and not only will he score goals, his all-round play is fantastic. City wouldn't be stupid enough to sell him to us though - not in Jan and not in the summer. They'll eventually let him go to Italy where somebody will happily pay him stupid wages because they'll get him on the cheap - like Tevez, like de Jong.SteveO 35 wrote:Dzeko is even further behind the first team now that Negredo has been scoring and Aguero isn't droppable

Re: January transfer rumours thread
save the club £25m, instead of going for Suarez, go for his mini me, Diego Costa, the bloke has been immense at Athletico,
This bloke is going to be a Superstar, and won't be Athletico for too long,

Re: January transfer rumours thread
Bastard you beat me to it, was reading about him on one of those Spanish football blogs. Atletico will actually accept offers for him in January. His release clause is 35million pounds. If the board are serious about spending all the money they've been hoarding, then this guy is the real deal. Him up front and defensive back up and I would actually start to buy into our early season hype being built on serious foundations, not the usual sand.Rosie_titters wrote:save the club £25m, instead of going for Suarez, go for his mini me, Diego Costa, the bloke has been immense at Athletico,

When it comes to transfers, people say some bizarre things on this forumg88ner wrote:Have I missed something?GranadaJoe wrote:I'd love us to buy a superstar striker, but I'd settle for a good loan. I know Cavani is left field, but it was being reported that he was looking for a move because he's behind Zlatan Ibrxxxx.Red Gunner wrote:When it comes to transfers, people say some bizarre things on this forumg88ner wrote:Have I missed something?GranadaJoe wrote:I'd love us to buy a superstar striker, but I'd settle for a good loan. I'd be very surprised if Costa was available, or interested. He's just got into the Spanish squad and Atletico are a big club and doing brilliantly.
I like to dream though.
Re: January transfer rumours thread
Today proved again that we need a new striker, and not any new striker, someone who will bench Giroud.
