As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Usual bottle job, don't think wenger should take all the blame though as most of the players out there should have a long hard look at themselves this morning because they were woeful
Great supporter!! well done mate you must be proud of yourself switching over after they scored, and then commentating on the game today! quality work!!

In fact I'd rather him celebrate than fucking take pity on us last year because it emphasises that it was actually a huge game. If he did an Adebayor then yeah I'd want his head but after the disrespect he showed the club this isn't even on the radar for me.
The paedo chants are disgusting but they're hardly new and if anybody in the media had any balls they would absolutely tear into the club for letting those chants go unpunished literally every single year, not to mention the fact that when there were pockets of Hillsborough chants last year they failed to eject a single person from the ground.
But as has been said by others that infantile she said no chant hardly puts us on a pedestal.
If I remember back it was me and you v the whole forum when the statement was said anyhow JVP heart is at another club now he can do what he want's but he is still a
Ahem... a-fucking-hem...
I can vouch that DB10 was certainly on the same side
I am pretty sure that if the BFG had been standing there there wouldnt have been a goal.
Supagoon wrote:glad he did celebrate the way he did, draws the line.
he is a bastard and he had no real attachment to the club.
Cesc would never celebrate against us.
Hopefully RVP and rest of his manc cretin team mates win nothing at all.
Sorry but I think he would, not like Greedy did for citeh of course, but the excitiment of the occasion would probably get the better of even Cesc.
Loyalty is bred out of most players nowadays
After all that has been said to RVJC I am not surprised that the celebrations were as they were, more having a love in with Rooney than gloating though. Still sticks in the throat
I know this is going to be unpopular..............but I don't give a shit.
I don't blame him for leaving when he did. The team was going nowhere and he wanted some success to remeber his career. I'd have probably done the same thing.
I also don't blame him for celebrating his goal. He didn't goad our fans afterwards, he went to the Manure fans. That's fair enough.
I don't understand the vitriol shown toward him, or any other player that leaves to progress their career (with the exception of Adebarndoor). These players are one bad tackle away from the end of their effective career, just ask Eduardo! If they see an opportunity to improve their position/salary/opportunities then good luck to them. Provided they do so without slagging off their previous employer then I have no problem with them.
Did we call Sol a Judas? No! what he did was worse than RVP but because we were the beneficiaries we think that was okay?
There's a lot of hypocrisy among football fans.

I think it was the whole way it happened that annoys, the immense time in the treatment room, then one great season and he fecks off.
I honestly think we would win the league this season if he were with us, and been in strong contention last one too. The suggestion that he is "furthuring his career" therefore sticks.
With the losses of players we have had it must have a demoralysing effect on others, 2 captains go onto other teams to furthur their carreers, cant be good on players let alone our morale.
Agree the Scums noses were rubbed in, same with Pat Jennings decades earlier. I would though agree definately they were furthuring their careers

You're right - Its not a popular view. But I agree 100%.

I don't think it's that unpopular a view on here fella - as has been suggested when this topic has been discussed before far more people seemed to side with your view than the opposite.
Tbh I agree with the vast majority of your post. Football fans ARE extremely fickle and hypocritical by nature. But for me the way in which he insisted on going to United and engineered it with that pathetic statement was tantamount to slagging off the club, which you cite as a justifiable reason to hold a grudge.
To me he should have just gone there and when asked said I wanted to win trophies and that wasn't going to happen at Arsenal, if people hate me because of that then fine it doesn't bother me. He was never going to be popular with our fans moving to United but coming out with that statement trying to deflect blame and make out he was desperate to stay at Arsenal coupled with all the "little boy" crap after insisting how much he loved the club etc was fucking condescending as far as I was concerned. Anybody with the ability to think for themselves could see why he moved there and he should have just taken it on the chin if people wanted to sing silly songs at him whilst laughing with his PL winners medal.

Delighted to see you stuck in a battle with another Gooner - and you thought that it was frustrating debating with me
This argument shouldnt be about why he left or where he went, this thread is all about a perceived over the top celebration of his goal against us and I dont agree with that view at all. Once a player leaves us, or any club for that matter, then I think that it is sooo cringeworthy that they dont celebrate a goal against their former team - if a player joins us then I need to feel that he is 100% committed to our needs and not have one eye on not offending previous supporters/team-mates
Tbh, after giving it large with that disgusting rape chant for the last 2 seasons, then our fans deserve every kick in the bollox they get - I'm ashamed to be associated with Gooners like that tbh
Well, I'm from a time when players respected their former clubs/team mates/supporters and I like to see them not celebrate scoring in front of their previous fans/colleagues. It demonstrated a bit of class. Old fashioned maybe but fuck all of you, I like the old traditions in the game.
BUT
If those same fans have been dishing it out and singing offensive shite at the player, then fuck them, that player has every right to rub their faces in it and I have no problem with that. Will still think the player is a cuntinfection but will accept totally their right to give some back.

Oh ok! so you put your burger and fries down and switched the tv off JUST for the duration of his celebration, then put then down again to turn it back on when you thought it was safe? course you did mate ! laughable!
your a delicate flower arent you ??
The truth is once RVP scored you switched straight over to bangbabes picked up your phone and dialled in for a chat ?
Im sure you receive a benefit somewhere that will help you out with your phone bill so dont worry.........

I simply don't care if he celebrates ,he doesn't play for us anymore and as such no longer warrants my concern.
The she said no chants are cringe-worthy and totally classless ,something I'm a afraid many of our newer fans are !
