Always thought the Arsene Knows ideology was a bit over the top. He's a brilliant manager, one of, if not the, best in the world, but deifying him is a bit much.

He is human. He makes mistakes. That is what happened this season.

I just hope that he can realise his mistakes come the off season and attempt to rectify them with transfer purchases....

FFS the season isnt over yet.
Ok we may be out of the league, but utd could lose today and we could beat them next weekend.
We have the 1/4 finals of CL on tuesday and were not out of that yet, so have faith and if we dont win anything at the end of the season the make your mind up about him, dont do while we still have a small chance.

No one has said the season is over.

I still think we have a good chance in the Champions League, but I can quite safely say that much to my despair, we will not win the Premier League this season.

And who can say that Wenger has had a perfect season in 07/08? No one.

People calling for his head are clearly delusional.

he is the person to blame for us losing the title,he should not be sacked of course but unless he seriously strengthens the squad next season will be the same thing.

I always like to say "Arsene knows" but I don't use it as a fact. And to answer your poll, yeah he did blow it

Arsene deserves a degree of "ok we don't understand this but lets see if he is right in a season or two time" like with Song or Senderos or Almunia who have all done better then some imagined a season or two ago but he doesn't get everything right. Sometimes there isn't much he could have done, example Reyes and Cygan were good players but didn't adapt, sometimes he must take the blame fully. Like lack of numbers in squad for this season, still playing Toure at cb despite his loss of form instead of Senderos though still think we underestimate the quality we do have

hasnt he been doing ok we might not understand for the last couple of seasons :?:

wenger must get his act together again or in a season or two people wil be very pissed off of fighting for 3-4 place  and yes i know we could still win the cl which would make the season a remarkable one

im not asking for wenger to be fired but someone has to sit him down and talk to him and tell him,,
big ground
big ticket prices
small squad not going to challenge
one fa cup in 4 seasons is not good enough for a club that in wengers own words wants to make arsenal the biggest club in the world

My own response to magic's post was going to be something along the same lines as yours rebel. Maybe wenger is a victim of his own success to some degree but like rebel says when the club talked big and hit the fans big time in the pocket and at the same time spent small then I think we have a right to be hacked off.

I was one of the realistic crew on here that from day 1 of the season as I predicted that our squad was too small and not good enough and maybe because of that I am not as angry right now as some fans (although I am very disappointed). However in keeping with my "dont look back" ethos I am now only looking towards next season and even though it is only early april I am more concerned for next season than I am for this one :( Put simply we needed 3 quality signings this season to bridge the gap from nearly men to possible champions and of course we didnt get them  We all know that in the summer gilberto & jens for sure are going and you would also have to admit that there is a very real chance any of the following could depart also - flamini, hoyte, eboue(please god),hleb(see eboue) and maybe even bedtner too. Even if you believe that only 1 of those leave then along with bert and jens and the 3 quality signings needed to build up our squad we are looking at the need for 6 new arrivals and that just aint going to happen with wenger in charge. More of the same next season :?: I am very afraid that will be the case and if so then it will be time to say au revoir to le boss

He is our greatest manager but his failiure to strengthen the squad last summer with proven experienced players has cost us in the title run in. No he shouldn"t be sacked but he must learn from his mistakes. We can all see where we need strengthening. We are crying out for a natural wideman playing Diaby out there is criminal and another world class goalscorer to partner Ade.We cant stand still while Man Utd and Chelsea buy big in the summer. Next season is a big one for Arsene

I agree with rebel in that he has a season or two to win things (and I mean more then one cup though one league would be the right direction), all I was saying is he has earnt the right to be given time for players to develop when many would want them out or to have a tricky time while stadium is being built. Well apart from Eboue, only reason I'm in favour of keeping him is he adds much needed depth, we replace that then he can go.

Judge him by what he buys now he has £70 million and how he has done in two seasons time is my attitude towards things but understand the frustration.

I'm viewing AW differently these days. When he went over to shake Rafa's hand I thought you reap what you sow, what right do you have to look pissed off AW? A transfer profit in the Summer, again in January. Don't throw your hands in the air, this is your making. Our players are exhausted at the business end of the season because we have no depth to our squad.

If AW thinks the money in todays game is obscene when it comes to Ribery's wages or the money paid for Torres; why do our fans have to pay more than other team? Why is Arsenal greedily at the front of the obscene money queue when it comes to charging us but virtuous moral crusaders when it comes to spending our money?

AW is class and a legend; he is also stubborn, too dismissive of the short-term and at the helm of a hypocritical regime.

Before I'm told to go support Chelsea  , I'm a gooner, my kids are gooners and their kids will be. This will be long after AW and PHW has left the club.

Rebel is totally right with the points he makes , especially the last paragraph , a good talkign to.

If Red and Orange come in things will change , i wonder if they are happy with how this season is panning out , i bet they are ? It could be playing into their hands !
