THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm just convinced the inevitable second half of the season implosion that may or may not see us scrape 4th will signal the end of him SteveO me old mucker.

So even through the despair of every defeat we can at least take solace in the fact we can start anew in August '14.

We live in hope.

What does concern me is Wenger moving upstairs and appointing his mini-me Stojkovic. He's virtually a Wenger clone so we can expect the same training, tactics and haemorrhaging money on useless shite from France.

I will try and cling to the same thin thread of hope my friend and I must admit the lack of recent discussions have dragged me 5% away from the previous 100% inevitability of the senile old bugger still being here in 2017.....

......its the hope that kills you :D

FOR GODS SAKE STOP IT. *SLAPS EVERYONE ACROSS THE FACE*. He never signs a deal very early and will undoubtedly get a 4 year extension at £9 million a year.

Sadly Chippy you're right.......I've allowed Rodders to dirty my mind with his June 2014 fantasy of There's Only One disappearing from the Bowl in a puff of smoke following the wild celebration of the 4th placed trophy.

I'll get some more ribs and sausages on order instead

ONE ARSENE WENGER.......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

It's a good thing he doesn't sign deals early Sir Chips because the yanks could use our current league position as justification for giving him a 10 year deal. Once the calamity capers kick in between now and May there will be no rhyme nor reason in offering him a contract.

Arsene will not win another title with Arsenal. I think this year would be a good opportunity but poor planning and preparation has left us with an under strength and unbalanced squad. In previous years we also had some duffers on the bench (and sometimes playing full games...cygan,etc.. ), but we had world class all over the first team. We don't now.

Very poor work Arsene but excellent in recalibrating expectations and setting the agenda,

Pretty harsh assessment given our recent form!. Podolski, Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain sitting on the bench makes things look totally different. The rotation in midfield will mean that players like Rosicky and Wilshire will even make the bench.

At the end of November last season we were 7th with 21 points so we've already exceeded that with games to play.

and that was shit so just as well we are doing better!! Being top in October/November wins nothing. We are well placed but this Arsenal team is quite capable of finishing 4th or 5th.....more so than being capable of winning the title!!
