16-21 Supporters' Forum rep

Post by 16-21 supp forum rep »

Evening gooners,

I'm the 16-21 year old supp rep. I meet with other fan representatives 4 to 5 times a season at Highbury House and Ivan Gazidis and other club staff are also in attendance e.g. head of ticketing, head of the commercial department. If anyone has any comments regarding 16-21yr old fan matters or any general queries please post on here and I'll feed back with Ivan Gazidis et al. at the next meeting.

Cheers.

The minutes from last month's meeting can be found here http://www.arsenal.com/fanzone/supporters-forum

If this is real:

1. Why are there no concession prices apart from in the family enclosure?

2. Why don't they have student prices?

Would the club consider selling 3l bottles of White Storm (Diamond White, White Lightning or Three Hammers would be acceptable but under no condition Frosty Jacks) around the concourse? Prices could be marked up 100% from supplier and in addition to getting change from a fiver fans would happily arrive early and create a raucous atmosphere :barscarf:

I have a two part question for Ivan Gazidis - a) how successful does he feel the awarding of new contracts to Djourou, Bentdner, Denilson, Vela and Almunia was in light of the poor performances of Arshavin, Chamakh, Gervinho, Park, Santos, and Squillacci ? and b) does he feel any pressure to improve this track record ?

Thanks

To be fair I think student prices are a complete luxury and if the club was to make even a minor shift on the ticketing policy I don't think that students should be the group to benefit.

My advice would be to stay away from ticketing queries, as that is exactly what every other rep will have a list of question about.

The only exception would be, directly relevant to yourself, is to query the success of the 'Young Guns' enclosure as there is a suggestion that not all of these discounted tickets are being sold for the allocated matches ; a crying shame, as the club have done pretty well with this offer but sadly not enough are taking this up. I am trying to get the numbers sold for the Saints match on Saturday, versus £10 tickets originally available so that REDaction can promote this in a 'use it or lose it' fashion.

Another good question is that as IG has gone on record as supporting safe standing, why are AFC not actively pushing this and being the leader of this campaign? We are so often told that AFC have been the ones to lead and the innovatorrs on English football down the years - but currently Villa and Sunderland are both doing more on this subject in the public eye.

Am I right in thinking that Young Guns Enclosure tickets can only be purchased by calling up on the phone? No surprise they're not selling if this is the case.

Please ask Mr Gazidis why I have to spend 1/4th of my student loan on my season ticket only to see it spunked away on Chamakh. Thanks. :)
