As one of those Irish posters that you refer to, can I say that your media is as fickle as they come - win a few games and it will be all positive and maybe just maybe but lose a game (or two) like chile Friday night, and all of a sudden the national team is shit, the manager is shit and your prospects are shit  The backlash (and booing) after the chile game was fcuking ridiculous - hodgson correctly used the game to blood a few players like forster, lalanna (sp ? ) and because ye lost a meaningless game all hell breaks loose  If you don't try players out in these games then why do you try them out ? :?

Re your suggestion that it is just a myth about the english media talking up how great the England team is, can I just respond by saying two words......"golden generation". The English media continually spoke about how great that generation was when in reality that golden generation included "superstars" like the Neville sisters, nicky butt etc so it begs the question....how could any team be genuinely hyped up when containing so much average dross ? Yet your media continued to do so and this in turn led to many of the braindeads to buy into and believe that the long wait for a trophy was about to end

Golden generation ??? That was going into the World Cup in 2006, so as I said 'long outdated'. We didn't even qualify for Euro 2008 and were pathetic throughout the 2010 World Cup so you're going back in time

There wasn't a single newspaper here that even spoke about the possibility of winning the World Cup when we qualified a few weeks ago.....in fact the view was that at 16/1 you should double the odds to even make it worthy of a drunken fiver.

I think its more to do with you lot and your bloody inferiority complex

I take it we can count on your support next Summer :D

Inferiority complex ? Us ? Never  Actually I cant remember the last time you lot beat us

Counting on my support next summer ? Absolutely  Actually I'm partially disgusted with myself that I get so desperate for some footie action in the summer that I actually end up glued to the tv to watch the games

Btw I do accept your "outdated" point 8)

I actually used to cheer on Ingerland in international tournaments especially when Adams, Wrighty, Merse, Seamo, Smudge etc played for them. Wasn't a fan or supporter as such but I've lived and worked in Ingerland, have Ingerlish mates and cousins, rode most of your women, support an Ingerlish club and so I liked to see them do well. I love the Ingerlish league game so it seemed silly not to hope they did well. But nowdays I can't stomach most of the blinged up arseholes and chav scum you have playing for you at interlull level. But to be honest this isn't limited to the Ingerland team - I dislike most greedy, mercenary, wannabe gangsta arsehole modern footballers...

Also agree with augie's points about your media.

i'm thinking a 4 or 5-0 defeat tomorrow. this when they get revenge for the 5-1 in Munich imho.

if he plays, a brace for Ozil.

and the thought of Hodgeson as Germany Manager (as he claims...) is just laughable.

Germany have moved on in the last 11 years, we've gone backwards.

with any luck, a total humiliation will see the end of Harts, lumpards, Gerrards and Hodgesons England careers, a new approach to youth football and the end of the 'reward a chav' selection policy.

Must have been very humiliating for them to get dicked like that on their own patch (although my understanding is that they don't view the rivalry on the same scale as zee English) but I would say that the absolute embarrassment they doled out at WC 2010 at least made up for that defeat from which they recovered to reach the WC final

Their rivalry is much more focussed on the Dutch. They fucking hate each other!

Last year I was working at a Dutch shipyard that is on the Rhine. The other side of the river is Germany. On the top of one of the yard cranes is a massive star of David that is illuminated at night.
I asked why it was there and was told

"they should never be allowed to forget"

Gerrard is a carthorse now compared to the top players that the likes of Germany and Spain have at their disposal and I don't care how many caps he has, the fact that he's actually still a regular speaks more than any interview could.

Just to labour the point, take a look at the comments on the BBC international football coverage. They asked which players were guaranteed starters and the only player other than Rooney to be listed just about every time was Gerrard.

Why the fuck is he a guaranteed starter???? Granted England aren't particularly blessed in that area and the fact that the likes of Henderson and Cleverley get anywhere near the side says a lot, but Gerrard should not be inked into the starting line-up by any means. He's hardly performed for England at the best of times, and his display at our place where he managed to stand out as particularly piss-poor in a spineless Liverpool display is more representative of him these days, rather than the marauding dominating performances he was turning in last decade.

Would Tom Cleverley get into Spain/Germany/Netherlands/Italy teams not a chance. He wouldn't get into the France or even Switzerland team. It sums up England that Milner and Cleverley get into the team.

Whiskey Nose kept Cleverley but lost Pogba
