Cardiff Away travel etc game thread

i'm going for 1-0 to the Arsenal. Per header.

given how shit everyone else is, i am turning midly positive though. if we can avoid giving six points to City this season we could well win this.

its that kind of season where Southampton very well could qualify for the CL play offs.

Of course, a progressive club would take this start to the season and realise that the addition of a world class striker in the window could be the difference between 4th and 1st, whilst a 'run for one man's benefit' club will breathe a huge sigh of relief that CL qualification looks inevitable and therefore the need to invest has been reduced even further. Not much point on me posting on this forum ever again, nail on the head. We all know where we're going here, seen it all before.
Im glad Im not you barman mates, your glasses are never anything but half empty  :?

Things are surely a tad different this season, the defense at long long last has a bit of spine in them, we have bounced back in matches after defeats against Dortmand and Manure. The spirit in the team too seems MILES better than for ages as well.

We all (well just about all) agree on a lack of strikers, but for me this is the best team we have had for a while, pass me a half full galss hic hic :barscarf: :barscarf:
To paraphrase Sir Crackpot, judge my so called pessimism in May, not November. Maybe the last 8 years havent thought you anything but they sure as hell have with me.

Not sure about that. Most seasons there's a surprise package, but agree it is a bonkers season so far!

its over 50 years since we have played a league match against them :rubchin:

Looking foreward to the match, expect Rambo to get some stick, but hopefully reply with a hat trick.

There may be some chants about an FA cup loss almost a century ago as well  :banghead: :banghead:

Every year there's a Newcastle, a West Brom, an Everton or a Southampton who after 15 games are still within a few points of 4th. And every year they fade away.

Hope he has a good game. His last return was poor. I was up there for that FA cup game and we were dire against them in their old stadium.

Won't make any predictions as I always balls then up anyway, just hope we turn up from the kick off as their fans will be well up for it.

Nice to have a couple of 3 pm kick offs before the times get messed about in December.

Looking forward to this big time. Will be in Cardiff from 11:30, where's everyone drinking... shame there's no 12:45kick off to watch in the build up.

Did Rambo not get some stick last time? I'm not joking when I say less than half their fans actually care about football, having a reputation as hooligans and kicking English people are more important to them.

Things have changed/improved over the past 3 seasons especially since the new owner took over - the (so called) ard men (boys) who used to act as 'body gaurds' for Sam Hammam (ex owner) who were also part of the ccsc - are not as visible as thy once were - yes, the cardiff fans have a rep - but that is down to previous years.... like all smaller clubs - there is still a active minority who like to cause aggro - but their numbers are less than 5 years ago...I was on the train going to see us play (we arrived at Southampton) 3 seasons ago - and Cardiff were playing pompey - some carriages full of ccsc  - snorting charlie & billy whizz and getting all gee'd up - but the plod (en force) emptied the carriages and searched every one of them...the train went on without them - some were being 'detained' others separated into smaller groups - and put on different trains...Cardiff supporters club now run coaches to games - no alchohol no trouble etc - like all other clubs - at home the trouble happens away from the ground - against like minded opposition fans....a lot of families (dad's & kids etc) make up 60 - 70% of the home crowd..

Also this saturday Cardiff will be full of Welsh Rugby fans - outnumbering footie fans 3 - 1 - and they very, very rarely get involved in any violence...they're there for the beer, rugby, beer and any spare drunken pussy

From Arsenal.com:

on the team news for Cardiff

No, nothing is different from Marseille really. We have no injuries. Of course we have some little concerns. People were a little bit rested like Arteta, but they are all available now.

on Gibbs...
Kieran Gibbs was sick but he has already recovered yesterday. He is now back in the squad.

on Podolski’s progress…
It will be three weeks until we could see him in the team.

on Oxlade-Chamberlain…
It will be the New Year for him.

   FFS what have the medical team done to him, he only had a cold!? :banghead:

It will be 18 months until we could see him in the team.

on Oxlade-Chamberlain…
His injury was a career ender. He has retired.
Corrected that for ya mate!
