Arsenal set to beat Roma in bid to land £2.5m Barcelona youngster Sanabria
Arsenal and Roma have made offers to Barcelona teenager Tonny Sanabria.
The 17-year-old striker is a Paraguay international and regular in Barcelona's B side.
His representatives held meetings on Wednesday and Arsenal are deemed favourites to pip the Italians to his signature once they trigger the player's £2.5million buy-out clause next month.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also being kept updated on the availability of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The 21-year-old, who is also a target for Tottenham, may be allowed to leave on loan in January.
And Arsenal, who are also watching Schalke’s talented 18-year-old midfielder Max Meyer, are interested in the Spain Under 21 forward as they look to bolster their forward options in the New Year.

We're going to 'battle' Madrid and Barcelona? We shy away from transfer battles and in any event we can hardly compete with what they have to offer.
To be fair if you look at his last career move you'd have to say if he doesn't go to Madrid or Barca then it'll be Citeh or Chavs.
Re: January transfer rumours thread
Cavani - yes we showed our sign of intent last time by tracking him for over a year before switching to Higuain and not signing him eithernorthbank123 wrote:![]()

According to Jan Aage Fjortoft on twatter we are favourites to sign Draxler from Schalke. Apparently he is one of the more reliable ITK types and was first to break the Ozil transfer, but still, pinch of salt n all that.
Isn't a striker the main priority? Why is Wenger pissing about with another luxury player? But I haven't worked 30 years in football, what do I know...Jan Aage Fjortoft @JanAageFjortoft 53m
BREAKING NEWS! I understand Arsenal are big favourite to get Schalke's Wonderkid Julian Draxler. I understand Wenger talk to him often #afc

I guess he'll have us playing 4-6-0, once Giroud is burned out or injured.MrT wrote:According to Jan Aage Fjortoft on twatter we are favourites to sign Draxler from Schalke. Anyway I hope that's our backup plan not Super Nik, Quality Park or Sanogo

KALOU IS COMING

Re: January transfer rumours thread
Absolutely no chance we'd spend that much money on another midfielder. Never in a million years. Who would Wenger drop?! It doesn't even make sense.MrT wrote:According to Jan Aage Fjortoft on twatter we are favourites to sign Draxler from Schalke. Anyone expecting some huge name in any position in January is going to be very very disappointed.
Re: January transfer rumours thread
Why an earth would Cavani go to City or Barca?? City are stacked and at Barca he'll never get a look in ahead of messi or neymar. He may want to leave PSG because he can't get passed ibra.
Chelsea for sure yes, but we should put a bid in.
PSG probably wouldn't sell him anyway, he has only just got there.
