As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm suggesting Wenger was given a player who he admires and would no doubt have liked, but wouldn't have bought if he wasn't pushed. And that the signing was completed by his superiors with an alternative motive.
And personally, I'd go along with anything my manager gave me if I was getting £7.5m a year in return.
So what you are saying is:
1. You think this is true, but you have no evidence or facts to support you.
2. You would do anything for money.

Yes and yes. Do you have any facts to prove i'm wrong?
Wengers other dealings (or lack of them) in the transfer market are "evidence" to show that he "may" have been pushed into or had nothing to do with the Ozil deal.
Even in the same window where Ozil was signed - Sanogo. (Free). Flamini. (Free)
These deals have Wengers modus operandi all over them. Free and French.
Higuain. Wenger dithered and allowed Napoli to snipe in and secure him. Suarez. Embarrassing, insulting +1 pound designed to unsettle the player and get him on the cheap.
While I dont believe Wenger would have tried to sign either of these two, I beleive he was under pressure from the board to spend some fukin money on a marquee signing to appease the season ticket holders and those on the shrinking waiting list.
Then there is Ozil. If you look at what happened in the rest of the window where Wenger got freebies and then dithered and fucked about when some real money was on the table you really have to question how much input Wenger had in this deal. No fucking about. No insulting bids. No dithering. All good and right at the last.
Lots of questions about deals, conflicting stories, scraps of evidence.
Mertesacker and Benayoun seemed like last minute panic buys, but both players said that their deals had been discussed for a while prior to being signed.
Certainly rumours that Sir Chips ordered Wenger to buy a big name, but also rumours of how Wenger phoned Ozil and spoke to him in German for ages explaining his proposed role at the club should he sign and how keen Wenger personally was to sign him.
Then there was Arshavin....rumoured that Gazidis signed him to make a statement as he was new in the job.
I do not doubt that Dein would, or Gazidis or Rowley could, come to Wenger and recommend a player.
And that they could contact a player's agent before Wenger gets involved near the end of the deal to talk to the player himself (such as when he took Ramsey's family out to dinner to persuade him to sign for us and not Man Utd), but would a control freak like Wenger really let signings be made over his head without his consent or knowledge?
Geez - have you seen Suarez's 4? 50m was cheap. He has to be pushing Ronaldo and Messi for best in the world now. Bloody hell!! Anyone thinking he's a chance of a transfer better have 120m in the skyrocket!

He could have been had for 50m in the summer I reckon. Shame we never pulled the trigger. Not too late though, I bet he's still interested in joining us. Need to go back in for him next month and test the waters. If he kicks up a fuss again the mousers will struggle to keep him.
He's the missing piece in our puzzle. If we get him, we'd piss the league and become CL contenders.

I agree but i can't see Liverpool letting him go under any circumstances.
