Groundhog summer transfer window thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Buy Draxler in January. Not a need but it would be similar to Ozil's signing - too good to let pass.

Sell Bendtner and play Draxler wide - on the left. Play Podolski as striker.

Rosicky is not getting any younger so Draxler would be a perfect replacement there as well

Buy a defender who can play right back and center defense - maybe Micah Richards?

Ozil may well make Podolski a better player, and he will want to make the German plane to Brazil. But I hope we do buy another striker in the window.

I'll admit I've seen barely any of Draxler but I wouldn't want us to go near him for the sums that are being talked about. I agree that Ozil is sheer class and despite our strength in that area has helped take us to the next level, simply had to sign him. But right now could we justify spending another £30m+ on a midfielder of that type? Not for me, not when that money could go towards a quality striker that really could make a (or the) difference.
