Re: Everton at Home
are people here expecting us to go a season and win EVERY game?we will drop points,we cant win every game,we are better than we have been for years, you don't save efforts like everton scored from,it aint the end of the world,a bit disappointing YES but nobody wins every game,it could be worse,we could be chavski, city or utd right now but we are 5 POINTS CLEAR tonight, forget the 2 points dropped, against a very good everton side we earnt a point

We're 5 points clear. May I suggest we not get on the players backs just yet.
is no one going to mention the shot was pretty dead on AT SZCESNEY?

But when the shot was lined up, you can see Kos moving towards Delofeu but keeping his distance.
Kos has said in the French press that this season he is trying not to dive in to avoid giving away too many fouls but on this occasion a Hippopotamousse approach would have been worth it.

I'm sure many will disagree but I think AW deserves credit for making a bold change and going for it.
I think Everton missed a trick by not attacking Jenkinson more.
I don't have a problem with the changes as such but people have been quick to dismiss the suggest that we need a big physical DM but today showed how easily our smaller flair players can be negated in a game. Tbh I thought that ozil was doing ok in patches before santi went off but he really took it up a gear after the changes which brings me back to the question of whether a team with ozil, cazorla, ramsey and wilshere all starting is unbalanced and prevents all of them playing to their max
Yeah I think that's fair. I know you're not his biggest fan but I love Flamini's attitude and I thought he drove the team forward when he came on. Playing all those midfielders is fine at home to Hull, but I do think it leaves us more unbalanced when it comes to stronger teams. Santi has been poor for a few games now but he is having to play much deeper than he is used to and I think that's affecting him too. He's getting marked out of games and I think we're better off leaving Wilshere in that deeper position with Flamini as a partner.
i think he should start everygame, all those on here bemoaning his signing have gone quiet
I'm not gone quiet - I am and always will call him flamoney because he is another money motivated player

For the record I don't dispute the energy he brings to the team (much needed energy at times too) but by the same token I haven't seen anybody refer to the ease at which barkley turned him for their equaliser

Re: Everton at Home
the highlights were ALL Arsenal apart from the spanish kids goals - Giroud x2 , rambo X2 and Ozil all had great chances.
yes Gibbs and Kos were liable for the goal, but we let them have a lot of possession and they didn't do much really with it.
we were afraid of their pace and width maybe a little too much - maybe flam should of started, but maybe AW sees the City game as more important and he'll start him then.

Re: Everton at Home
To me it was the sort of game where Flamini should have started. They were always going to be pressing us hard and they like moving the ball around at pace through the middle. We could really have done with the physicality and it would have been good to have Cazorla coming off the bench in a game where we were always going to be made to work hard and likely to be struggling to break them down.
Certainly no point in having him on the pitch chasing balls round like a headless chicken in the final third like today.

Re: Everton at Home
It's just the same defensive frailties are still there, the same dazed stand off approach when they are attacking us is still there and has not been ironed out, the way Gibbs is continually out of position and just stands there and watches while that Barca loanee takes a shot and scores. Until these glaring deficiencies are sorted out I don't see us winning much.markyp wrote:are people here expecting us to go a season and win EVERY game?we will drop points,we cant win every game,we are better than we have been for years, you don't save efforts like everton scored from,it aint the end of the world,a bit disappointing YES but nobody wins every game,it could be worse,we could be chavski, city or utd right now but we are 5 POINTS CLEAR tonight, forget the 2 points dropped, against a very good everton side we earnt a point
We should not be getting bossed for nearly a half against Everton, I don't give a shit what kind of form they are on, they are a glorified mid table side and we are The Arsenal, it should not be happening if we are to be serious title contenders.

Re: Everton at Home
no ones saying eberygame. but with delusions of title winning we need to beat everton at home, because we all know we dont beat the other top 4 clubs. im just being logical. to make up for rarely beating chavs, united (who wont be top 4 this season) and citywe have to beat the others if we are to have any hopemarkyp wrote:are people here expecting us to go a season and win EVERY game?we will drop points,we cant win every game,we are better than we have been for years, you don't save efforts like everton scored from,it aint the end of the world,a bit disappointing YES but nobody wins every game,it could be worse,we could be chavski, city or utd right now but we are 5 POINTS CLEAR tonight, forget the 2 points dropped, against a very good everton side we earnt a point
