Re: Everton at Home
I was desperate for a win yesterday, I feel Arsenal must not miss a chance to widen the gap at the top because it can so easily be closed. Disappointed with much of yesterday's performance. Maybe expectations have soared too much recently but watching Arsenal not owning the ball at home was hard to watch .Despite all the plaudits Everton are getting for their performance I thought they were workmanlike , organised but not overly threatening.
Certainly disappointed not to take the three points after going ahead so late, not the worst result but two points dropped.
PS Why did Martin Tyler spend so much time talking about the Man U v Everton game, at times he was making excuses for United ?

Re: Everton at Home
You talk as if it's 2007. Wenger's had nearly 9 years to work on beating the top sides again, but he simply can't manage it (with any team). Sure, we may have some new players in who are more capable overall, but it's the same captain of the ship, and he doesn't deserve any more chances.g88ner wrote:It's true that we're struggling to beat the top sides, but I guess that's the next step for this team.
Re: Everton at Home
Everton were hugely impressive, credible title challengers for me.
If that team plays most of their games, they'll be no lower than 4th surely.

We have had 4 good months and that trumps anything and everything that has happened in the last 8 or 9 years.
That kind of talk is soooo last season. Wenger is a genius once again. Just forgive and forget everything.
All the pain, embarrassment, record breaking defeats, lies, price increases, lack of team investment, abject failure - it never happened. Its all in your imagination.
Cant you just support the team?

Re: Everton at Home
As much as I don't like to admit it the draw was a fair result.

Re: Everton at Home
Are the toffees a "top side" now? Have I missed something?
Not so long ago they were shit. How are they a "top side" now so quickly?
Are they in the same "top side" group as City, Man U, Chelski?

Well I think you're all a bunch of ungrateful bastards and should go and support Spurs.
Be careful what you wish for otherwise we'll end up like Leeds, Rangers and Portsmouth you know

Re: Everton at Home
was reading a couple of the rags today and from an outsiders view yesterdays result was sign of our title intent, both papers were impressed with our capability of hanging on against what they called a very impressive Everton.i think sometimes peeps here cant see the wood from the trees,a fresh pair of outiders eyes gives us a better reflection of our abilities sometimes,we going for the title if pundits views are taken into consideration, its not all doom and gloom

Re: Everton at Home
Ozil cost 42 mill. Money we couldnt afford. How on earth are we gonna afford to buy a striker in Jan?
We'll be bankrupted if we invest in the team. Wengers hands are tied and have been for years.
We could never have invested every year and strenghtened each season with proven talent. Are you crazy? What kind of madness is that? Like steveO says... Just look at pompey and Leeds.

Just like all the outsiders said - Wenger got us a staggering 4th last season and it was "his greatest ever achievement"
I agree the "outsiders" know more than us wankers who've only been following the team for decades

But in the style of the M&S advert........these aren't just wankers........these are extra special turncoat wankersarmchair supporter wrote:Exactly mate.markyp wrote:was reading a couple of the rags today and from an outsiders view yesterdays result was sign of our title intent, both papers were impressed with our capability of hanging on against what they called a very impressive Everton.i think sometimes peeps here cant see the wood from the trees,a fresh pair of outiders eyes gives us a better reflection of our abilities sometimes,we going for the title if pundits views are taken into consideration, its not all doom and gloom

Baring the Oil Barons cash Citeh and The Chavs have been shit for far far longer than Everton.

At the moment one of the "top teams" are a mid table shambles, makes it all the more frustrating that we capitulated there
