Fellaini is absolute gash and if anybody bothered watching him closely at Everton they'd have known he'd never ever fit in to the midfield of a top team playing at a high tempo. He needs 3 touches to get the ball under control and his passing is limited at best.
If we had signed him I'd rather him playing as a backup target man - at least his physical presence up front could be used in a system that might work for him. He has no place in a midfield like ours

Have to agree. Would also add that last season he flattered to deceive. He looked dominant because he was let be dominant. He was shown way too much respect by most oppo players and the rest just weren't sure how to handle him. Fellaini had his season. Players like him always have that one season where everything goes right for them and they are spoken of as future captains of this and that and as genius players. The game has been littered with them. But then the following year? Average at best. He is technically average and his whole game is about being physical. You match that and he hasn't much more to offer. Would be amazed if he is still a manure player next season.

27.5m is far too much, and they needed someone with more creativity, thats what 1989 was on about??
Fallani signing would have made more sense for us, pre Flamoni but at 10m not 27.5m
I guess Moyes was desperate and no wonder- they really are in trouble, what a laugh .
Do they have a war chest though, or is that in a vault in their corporate bank somewhere
He spoke about wanting him when it looked like he would be leaving for 23m so are you honestly saying that he has since backpeddled (again ) because of the extra 4.5m ?
I wanted us to sign fellaini and I make no bones about it. Normal people watch a player playing over a long period of time before deciding whether they rate the player and whether they would like their club to buy him or not - if you do follow that path then surely you don't decide that he is a waste of money on the back of 11 (yes just eleven) appearances for his new club do you ? If you have history of changing your opinions to complete opposites then maybe it isn't about the money at all and is just who and what you are

Well done for digging that up.
Why did you leave out the "who doesn't fit into their system" bit about Fellaini?
I still would have Fellaini here, as a box-to-box physical midfielder. He would fit with us much better as we play 3 in the middle which he means his lack of pace and mobility wouldn't be exposed as much. At Utd he just doesn't fit in. He and Carrick are both immobile and they play 2 in the middle. They needed a Fabregas, not Fellaini.
For Belgium he plays in a 3 man midfield alongside Dembele and Witsel and performs very well.

You didnt copy that bit either Augie
Still feel £23m is too much for him, apart from hairsales. Everton must be the ones totally pissing themselves
Suggests that Moyes is very very seriously short on ideas all in all, obviously he saw more of Fellaini than anyone yet I think we are mostly agreed isnt suited for manures existing play. He isnt a total mug ( )hence must have been a panic buy once he saw how shite their Midfield is
Moyes took over a title winning team, in fact a team that ran away with the title and added the midfield power house Fellaini. No United player was sold and Moyes was endorsed by SAF himself. Now they sit in mid table.
If you can't laugh at that, what the fuck can you laugh at
Moyes was guilty of something Wenger does too often......he waited on a deal he thought he could get. I'm sure he said that he expected to get Baines and Fellaini at the end of the window, then got blown out on Baines and panic bought Fellaini at a higher price?
Love seeing them in the shit though, and Moyes has a six year contract doesn't he?? Will cost them a fortune just to get rid!!
SteveO 35 wrote:I'm thinking of signing up to Red Cafe......just to remind them of all the players "who aren't coming"
Baines isn't coming
Sneijder isn't coming
A fantastically un-PC joke just popped into my head there. But I cannot repeat it on here. Yes it concerns RVJC and... shall we say... consent...? Oops - I've gone too far!
