As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

IF / When (!) he signs a new contract in the coming months, i don't think he'd walk away at the end of the season whether we finish 1st or 10th. He'll honour his contract, I reckon.
Just strikes me as an odd hypothetical question when every man and his dog know's the contract is as good as signed.
Good point, but the contract aside, she he stay or go if we won the league?
Personally, I think he should stay, IF we won the league or came a near second and purchased another striker in January i.e. we showed ambition and put up a good fight!

I have heard Wenger called some things on this forum but that is a new low

Sorry to disappoint you, gav
Shouldn't be signing any contracts until he's proved he can win trophies again. END OF.

If he wins the league then a hell of a lot of people on here who didn't give us a cat's chance in hell of doing so will have been proved categorically wrong and as one of them I would happily hold my hands up and say he needs a new deal.
Winning the league would be a fantastic achievement BUT for me would still not come near vindicating the way we have strung fans along with one hand whilst robbing them with the other since we moved.

Difficult one for me this as I don't want to be labelled a turncoat wanker by SteveO....
I've been against for four seasons now and I'm still sticking to my guns and believe that we need a new manager with a fresh approach. If we did manage to win the league it would be hard if not impossible to argue against a new contract, and in that case I would return to the closet quietly sobbing to myself for a few more years.
Seriously lads the quality of this league is as low as it ever has been but you think that if we win this league, wenker should get a new contract ?? IF we win this league it will be in spite of wenker and not because of him - the lack of quality recruitment has gone on for far too long and, contrary to some reports, it is a policy that still exists to this day I would love to see us win all the remaining trophies available to us this season but even if we did I would still want him gone next summer - I would thank him for what he has done, pack his packs and tell him to get the fcuk out

If he wins the league......if he doesn't win the league......if he wins a cup.......if he doesn't win a cup.......in terms of the new contract it doesn't matter a fucking jot and it never will
The wonderful, virtual, Be All and End All, finish 4th and you're a £25m money making hero trophy is what will dictate the terms of There's Only One's inevitable new contract. Always has, and always will. When Kroenke sells he will owe the money he makes on his 'investment' in Arsenal to There's Only One, which is why he'll be here for a few more years yet. I'm prepared to wager almost any bet against those who think he'll be gone in the Summer.....and when I take the money I'll be singing.......
ONE ARSENE WENGER......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER
Win or not (the league) is irrelevant, completely, when making a decision to be for or against him on this occasion. It must be...
Those against already creating a defence to justify their own fragilities "even if we do win it... " That would suggest that winning the league is not enough and one can understand that - if one accepts the premise that he failed us somehow. I of course, do not and never will accept that, but that's my view I guess (and that of many outside of here I think)
I wouldn't necessarily expect anyone to change their views readily from one side of the fence to the other - beit turncoat wanker or fickle fan - unless we either win a hatfull of trophies under his leadership or - the other way - slide dramatically down the table and out of the top four or half dozen teams in the country.

Are you even from here? I could've sworn you said you weren't. I ask because the vast majority that blindly support him contribute nothing out of their lives to supporting the club, whether it be financial or travelling across the continent to see the team play, they have nothing to lose since they never invest in the team on any level. For them it's online posturing to see who can be the biggest loyal supporter to Wenger.
I've never had a problem with people supporting him while he is the manager of the club, fine, but what I have a problem with is people from New Delhi and America etc calling me fickle and telling me to ''go and support Spurs'' because I lost patience with him years ago.
