If someone cares about the odds

Re: CL draw
Madrid or PSG please. I personally like seeing us up against the top sides but the whole Barca thing is boring and we've played Bayern a few times in the knock outs.

Agreed. I think my culchie colleagues say it best when they say "You may as well hang for molesting a sheep as a lamb!"kiwomya wrote:Madrid or PSG please. I hope we get Madrid. Fuck it - why not. If we lose, then we lose.

But if we win? Then hey! It's exploding vaginas all over the gaff!!

Re: CL draw
I wan't Madrid as well, it's been a good while since we last played them.
Re: CL draw
Bayern and Real Madrid would be our major worries.
If we are leading the BPL and worrying so much about the prospects of facing the likes of PSG and Athletico then we are really saying the BPL is shit league compare to others in Europe.
Peace

Re: CL draw
I'd like to see Barça.
That would be a good test of our revitalized squad, and it could incite Wenger to spend in January, which as we all know he's loath to do so.

Re: CL draw
prefer Real Madrid but any will do.. I'm actually kind of happy we can only draw these tough teams since we had no chance of winning it all anyways. May as well play a high profile game and be done with it.

Re: CL draw
Will be less of a borefest if we avoid Barca or Bayern. No chance we'd turn Madrid over but rather face them anyway.

Thanks for that...kite wrote:If someone cares about the odds

Didn't enjoy my trip to see us play in Barcelona (ok we lost, but it was more that the away seats are in a shite part of a shite stadium!), and wouldn't want to return to Bayern so soon after the last. And bad memories of the Parc D'Princes i.e. Nayim...and also heard it can be a little on the rough side - and I'm too old to go anywhere rough

So that leaves either of the Madrid teams for me... Real for the sheer experience (been to the Bernabeau years ago, but not to see Arsenal) or Atletico as they are realistically our best chance of making it through to the next round... Here's hoping!!

Re: CL draw
Now forgive me if im wrong but how is there a 30% chance we draw Bayern vs a 17% chance we can draw the other teams? If we can draw one of Bayern, Athletico, Real Madrid, PSG or Barcelona isnt that a 1 in 5 or 20% chance?kite wrote:If someone cares about the odds

Re: CL draw
It would be 20% if it was a free draw. But because Bayern can only play 1 of 5 teams whereas PSG and the others can face 7 the odds of them drawing us are shorter. Pretty sure the fact that Dortmund can only face one of 5 (4 of who are the same) impacts on it too.Deise Gooner wrote:Now forgive me if im wrong but how is there a 30% chance we draw Bayern vs a 17% chance we can draw the other teams? Re: CL draw
POTENTIAL LAST 16 OPPONENTS
Bayern Munich
Barcelona
Real Madrid
Paris St-Germain
Atletico Madrid
Bring it on R.Madrid...Ozil to score the winner in extra time - and earn some of his £42 million and both ronaldo and monkey boy on their knees crying whilst our players and the gooners all go NUTS!!
Naaaah I know, but it was good whilst I was day dreaming!

Re: CL draw
Can't do the complicated maths for you but it is because we can't play United, the chavs or Dortmund and Bayern can't play Schalke, City or Leverkusen. This massively restricts the possibilities.Deise Gooner wrote:Now forgive me if im wrong but how is there a 30% chance we draw Bayern vs a 17% chance we can draw the other teams?
