your memories of past game away v Man City please ladies and gents.........
I only ever went once up to Maine Rd for a midweek league cup (or whatever it was at the time) match
1-0 win with Groves I think getting our goal, not a particularly memorable match and I don't recall being impressed with their ground either.
Previous Man City v Arsenal matches (Maine rd / Etihad)

I remember when we battered them 5-0 at Maine Road. We went 4-0 up in the first half and Henry had an absolute stormer.
They were utterly shite.

Saw us win 3-0 on my only visit to Maine Road...in 1980
!
And we lost 2-4 on my only visit to the Etihad...

Saw an absoluterly turgid game at Maine Road at the arse end of GG's reign ; 0-0 going into injury time, when Wrighty popped up at the far post with a low header into the net to win us the game ; He ran the length of the Kippax giving it large.
Was on the Travel Club coach which got pelted on our way out of Moss Side!
Went to a few others up there, when we generally battered them in the golden years ; Richard Dunne regularly getting torn a new one by Henry. Also went to a couple at the Etihad ; one game in the 49 run when Cashley scored the winner, and also a comeback 2-1 win, when Seaman was in goal for City.

Remember going to Maine Road the Wednesday after we beat Spurs in the semi in 2001. We were 4 0 up after 30 minutes and as often happened in those days when we got a big lead we stopped trying and didn't score again.
Going back even further i remember Tommy Caton getting a last minute winner against us in the early 80s.

we've always done well against city - i vaguely remembe some big wins and i think one of Charlie Nicholas' first goals was against them. I also remember we dropped points at home to them in the 1991 run .
I also lived in withington, South Manchester for four years so i used to go to City when i couldn't get away tickets for The Arsenal, and spent quite a few afternoons standing on the Kippax with local lads from the pub (Red Lion, Withington) though strangely for various reasons, i never got to see Arsenal there.
'89 was the year of the Bananas. just bizarre to see that - there was no reason at all for it.
i always give city fans a lot of credit - down in Division three and they were still pulling 28,000, which when you compare to Arsenal under Howe in Division one we were getting 26,000 showed a lot of loyalty, plus they really really hate that United have taken over Manchester when they're a Salford team...
Maine road like Goodison ranked just below Highbury for its history imho.
i'm going to guess their fans think the Etihad is gash too.

I saw stewart robson once scored a winner there shortly before leaving for west ham. maine road was a decent ground but the area around it wasn't the best for getting out after a game tbh

I remember us winning 1-0 up there on New Year's Day during out title winning season in 1990-91, winning up there on a Monday night game just after the GG bung story had broken, winning at their new ground with the youth team in the league cup in 2004-5 I think and of course coming back to win 2-1 in 2003-4 after Lauren's horrendous own-goal when he was running back and managed to somehow shovel it in past Lehman into the net.
Re: Previous Man City v Arsenal matches (Maine rd / Etihad)
One of my faves was being up there midweek (bizarrely I think a Thursday night??) and winning 3-1 in the lead up to the Be All and End All final and penultimate game before Lasagnegate.
Neanderthal Man Stuart Pearce was managing them and Reyes got a quality goal for us. Was a real feel good factor in the away end with all the 'we're on our way...' singing pre-Paris and Paul Merson was standing up in the commentary box when we were singing "Stand Up if you Hate Tottnum".
After the game I had a few beers with some of the Citeh fans and they were wishing us all the best and moaning about what a crock of shit Pearce was as a manager.
Crucial 3 points in the end too
