My Glass is half full - Alerady replaced TH14

Post by Goonanana »

A young super quick talent with fantastic finishing, not quite strong enough to play as a centre forward so Le Boss nurtured him for a season on the wing. Given a summer to bulk up before becoming the best striker in the world...

Sound like a familiar story? Thierry Spring to mind...... or did Theo??

Would Theo and Van Persie up top be all that bad?

Yes I'd love us to spend 20 odd mil on Torres or Teves but come on folks this is the Arsenal Board we are talking about! The only more than likely signing within budget is Babel, but I think the team thats leaves us with isn't as bad as everyone seems to think! only one player has left folks, and he only played 15 odd league games anyway...

R V Persie Theo Walcott

R Babel G.Silva C.Fabregas T.Rosicky

G Clichy W.Gallas K.Toure E. Eboue

J.Lehmann

Bench:

Adebayor
Denilson
Fabianski
Djourou
Hoyte

I think Theo needs more time. I'd stick Adebayor on to start, and dont forget Bendter. He's use to a harder game too.. And still think 4-3-3

Rosicky Adebayor RVP

Diaby Fab Gilberto

Gael Gallas Toure Hoyte

Goonanana - based on that line up (including the bench you've picked) what happens if Rosicky, Babel (if we get him) and Van Persie get injured?

I think theo needs a bit more experience if he want to start as a striker, we should give him a little more time.

Goonanana you don"t even include Diaby as a substitute in your line up!!!! .Last season he was wasted stuck out on the right, his best position is in the centre to compliment Cesc.If Wenger gives the captaincy to Gilberto its going to be hard for Diaby to get a look in as Cesc is undropable. What a waste of a great talent.
Also Theo must play on the wing he hasn"t got the strength to play upfront and he lacks a faw inches

Would agree with your team mrmage.

Although bit worried when africa nations starts as would leave us with

Bendtner
Rosicky - RVP
Diaby - Fabregas
Gilberto
Clichy - Gallas - Senderos - Hoyte
Lehmann

Which I feel lacks a little. Hleb can take place of Rosicky/RVP if injured.
Denilson for Diaby/Fab.

Hoping we get Sagna as will give us a few more options.

Adebayor
Bendtner/Rosicky RVP/the new signing

Cesc/Denilson Diaby/Hleb
Gilberto(c)
Clichy/Traore Gallas Toure Eboue/Hoyte
Lehman

As long as we dont have another ridiculous season when it comes to injuries then our first team looks pretty interchangeable, lots of assists and (hopefully if A-de-bay-or steps up) lots of goals. The two midfield slots infront of Gilberto can interchange with the front three and we might end up seeing these lads playing an 'invincible' style formation where no1 is really in a set formation apart from the back 4. Not as good as that yet but given a little time and dont forget theo...

Very good point on Diaby, oversight on my behalf, drop Hleb for him for a start,

with regards to your questions tony

Babel - replacements are diaby, van persie, hleb

RVP - adebayor, bendtner

Rosicky - Hleb, diaby, theo, eboue

Have to agree if RVP got injured we'd be in trouble but don't forget this thread was designed to show its not the end of the world if the club really is skint or the board won't pay out, obviously ideally I'd love to see Teves in to replace Henry along with Babel's entrance, but on the bare bones, with one signed up to 7Million I still think we have an overall Team better than Spurs even with Bent

I have to agree on the Diaby bit!

Anyone who has their ankle broken and dislocated but gets up to try and have a pop at his northern scum attacker is top man in my book!

Alright, so based on that. if the players I mentioned got injured, this'd be our line-up...

Lehmann,

Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy

Walcott Fabregas Gilberto Hleb

Bendtner Adebayor

With a bench of

Diaby
Denilson
Fabianski
Djourou
Hoyte

Hate to nitpick, but that seems like a pretty makeshift team to me, with only three injuries. Let's not forget the African Nations Cup, which will mean we're without three of that starting XI. What then? I like your optimism, but the squad either needs a lot of investment, or a lot of luck...

Well that is if we get those three specific injuries but even so back 4 is unchanged, so is centre 2, theo has played about 10 games on right wing already, hleb has played on left plenty of times and even Diaby off the bench has played a few games there (not that i agree with it) and the top 2 are both strikers

Surely any team with 3 out of 10 outfield players missing is going to be a bit makeshift but there is no-one wildly out of position, *Start the rousing music* sure they might not all be champions league standard but at least they have all had experience in their positions and so if they rise to the occassion of playing for Arsenal Football Club then i have no doubt that they can beat anyone in the League if not the world, we are the mighty gooners and we shall not crumble!

Victoria concordia Cresit!
