The Scum Thread/Stadium Redevelopment

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I was getting a bit despondent about Ozil not playing like a 40 million pound player then I saw a story about Lamela (genuinely nicknamed Coco), their record signing, who they don't even want in their squad, and I cheered right up.

Then, being the gift that keeps giving, they get stuffed at home by the team we cruised past.

Finding a fiver when you've lost a tenner doesn't repair you economically, but it does put a massive smile on your face.

AVB clearly doesn't have complete faith in Soldado, or Defoe and they're still paying Adebayor! A gem round every corner.

They really are a bunch of clueless *word censored* aren't they. Losing 5-0 to the mickeys who are shit just makes my whole day. Long may they suffer.

Which is code for, he can't believe he's stuck in this shithole.

30m for a 21 yr old who can't speak English . Idiots.
Is that a good barometer of quality then?

I'd take a world class non-English speaker over some of the dross in the England squad any day of the week!

A language can be learnt... natural footballing ability can't.

The London Fire Brigade say the rapid mass evacuation at White Hart Lane today is the most impressive they've ever seen.

i'm not doubting his quality, i'm doubting his ability to adapt to a foreign culture and concentrate on his football at such a young age - not all players can do it, regardless of talent - and 30million is a massive massive gamble. its not like the couple of hundred thousand we purchased cesc and vela for, its a huge investment.

had he come from a english speaking country - say the States, then he would have less trouble adapting, hence the reason why south americans go to spain or portugal first when they're young.

Messi, Cesc and Hargreaves fathers all moved with them which doesn't seem the case here.

he's a huge gamble imho.

edit - he was an unused sub today. 16 games in and he's only played 6 games, no goals no assists. for 30million. gamble.

i love the comment that 'southampton can't come soon enough'.....i think they're forgetting that Southampton are probably better than them right now.

i really don't see the spuds getting a win at St Marys.
