As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Whoa whoa whoa Mein Fuhrer and your Hitler Youth buddies!!
Sorry, I do not agree with changing thread titles because someone disagrees with the OP. That is not on. If the thread title is not libelous or overtly offensive then it should be left alone. The thread itself is where people can agree or disagree with the OP. But to change the title because it irks a couple of people?? That's bollocks lads.
I don't like to publicly humiliate one of my mod colleagues (even a lesser mod like Hlebby ) by changing his changes but if he hasn't changed it back by midnight tonight I will. And then I'm getting my IT mate to spam him.
I Hate Hleb wrote:I agree with Mark and Lefty and have thus made an alteration of the thread title that keeps the essence of what the 'infidel' goonersid was trying to say, but without the implied insult.
Also, Hlebby, ya mutt - it does change the essence of what sid the infidel said! He said Jack was the most over rated player in Ingerlish football, not just an over rated talent.
In all honesty I've been annoyed with the thread title since it was first posted but decided to leave things thinking that once people had their say the thread would soon slip down the page. Unfortunately sid has used any possible opportunity to bump the thing back up again, be it a poor performance or something off the field - yet curiously NOT when Jack has played well and/or scored goals?
The original title came over as a statement of fact rather than just an opinion - albeit a misguided one. What I have done is a happy compromise. Change it if you want - I'll only change it back!!

Mod Wars.
If you don't like Spam you've never been truly stoned off your tits. FACT.
Mod Wars!! I'm sure Channel 5, ITV 2 or Dave would be interested in that concept!!
Not saying that I've never eaten Spam. Indeed as a youngster I didn't have much choice but to eat it. Just saying that I don't particularly like it and now that I have my own resources, am not compelled to have it.

The cannibal got a 1 game ban for the same offence a couple of years ago so he is absolutely right to contest the 2 game ban
The offence is now apparently a mandatory 2 game ban, so he should take his oil and try to get his act together cos at the minute he is behaving like a twat and playing like one.
Makes no sense though. If they said it was a mandatory 3-game ban then there's logic behind that as it's what a red card would have merited. But how can they say that something should be a mandatory 2-game ban? Where have they plucked that arbitrary figure from? I know they changed the rules regarding the circumstances under which FA can review but I wasn't aware they'd taken away their complete discretion when deciding on length of bans?
As much as he deserves a ban for being a petulant brat on this occasion I have to agree that it is "clearly excessive" to give him double what Suarez got for the exact same incident (especially if you are taking past behaviour into account) not long back. Imagine if it was the other way round and Suarez was getting the double ban.

David Beckham can give the finger to Leeds fans and get a warning, Suarez does the same and gets a one-game ban. The Gunners are top of the league so it's about time the FA started all their vindictive anti-Arsenal nonsense again.

Not saying that I've never eaten man sausage. Indeed I love doing so - just ask haskads. Just saying that I don't particularly like swallowing but will if the price is right.

And that ultimately is the problem. They can bring in whatever procedural changes they want but if they're going to let Rooney get away with kicking a bloke - just like he got away with elbowing that Wigan player a few years back - everybody will still rightly regard the system as unfair.

As well as being overrated ( all England players are) I'm also starting to think that our Jack is a bit of a tit.
How soon before the media starts speculating about Ross Barkley going to the world cup...zzzz
He's definitely new flavour of the month. To be fair he is a decent player and if I was an England fan I'd rather see him going than Tom Cleverley or Gareth Barry.

Yeah... the war years were hard on old Blighty, huh?
